As a female, I totally agree with your comments. I think most females go for the bad boys at least once, and that should be enough to learn. I am 40, and also a professional, I would think because of the age of your friend, she would be a little wiser. I finally learned at 32, after having a loser who would work when he felt like it and cheated every chance he got. I finally gave a "Nice Guy" a chance and have been with him for 8 years now. It is so nice living without all the stess and drama that comes from being with a bad boy. And some people say to me "what are you doing with him" because of the looks issue. You hear that alot when you see a good looking female with a "basic" male. What people don't seem to understand is that looks really don't matter all that much, especially if that man treats you good and makes you laugh.

It's honestly pretty sad. Rob could have had his choice out of any one of us women involved. We're all fantastic "chicks" as he called us and we all loved him so very much. He could have had everything that he's ever dreamed of. The house, cars, kids and even that fishing business that he talks about to everyone. Any one of us would have gone to any lengths to make sure he had what he wanted, but, he had to be selfish and stupid. I actually don't think he can help it and like mentioned before, I think he could use some serious mental counseling but he will never go because he's too proud. He doesn't understand that he's doing something wrong and for that, I feel sorry for him and the others that he hurts. My life is forever changed because of this man. I forgive him because I know he's sick, but I will never forget.

Sounds like you are still in love with this POS. Why he be or any other guy be "given" houses and cars and fishing boats. Get a JOB and earn it. A marriage should be a partnership where both contribute not one mooching off of the other.

No, not in love with him anymore. I guess what I meant to say was that any one of us would have helped him achieve his goals. That's what a relationship is all about, isn't it? I believe in 50/50. I'm not saying that we would have given it to him straight up, but rather assisted him in achieving his goal. You know nothing about me but I can tell you that I have a huge, kind heart. I honestly don't believe that he can help what he does. Does that make it right? Hell no!! Did he hurt me and all of the others? Hell yeah!! Does that mean I wish him any physical harm? No, it doesn't. Having to deal with this has been one of the single most difficult things I have ever endured but I am over it. That still doesn't mean that I can't wish for him the help that he desperately needs. Everyone deals with their hurt and anger in different ways. I don't hate him because hate is still a very strong emotion. I honestly feel indifferent towards him but I intend to see this through to the very end.

To AFPJ: There's really no way you can understand until you've actually been duped by a sociopath. I got off cheap. He only owes me $23.99. But I did buy him nice birthday and Christmas presents, that I wish some homeless soul on the street had now rather than him.(He bought me nothing for Christmas.)But he did rob me of my trust and self-esteem, left me emotionally devastated and confused. Right after the money and credit conversation things started to get a weird. Evidently, I started asking too many questions. It was time for him to bolt...straight to his next victim.
