Good Morning All.

Whew..........I lucked out. Daughter's new car has some type of electrical issue with the seats. This car is already shaping up to be a doozy.
She's been waiting for almost two weeks so far for the part she needs to come in( must be coming from the North Pole). Meanwhile the dealership gave her a rental. Sunday night she was out of state and the damn rental broke down and she got stuck waiting for 3 hours until another one could be delivered to her. I'm thinking she might be better off getting a bicycle with snow tires.

Did you do any shopping on Black Friday? I went on base but that was it. I am ordering a lot of my Christmas online this year.
No, I didn't hear about the man being beaten to death. Was that in Ferguson? Did you hear LE is investigating the step father for getting everyone all riled up and starting the fires. That guy has a long rap sheet and years of prison time. The step father seems like a thug although those morons would have probably burned the town down regardless of what he had to say. To me that Mother seems phoney. Did she ever raise the boy? How come we don't hear from the Grandmother who raised the boy? Do you know if the Mother has other kids?

Yes, my daughter and I did our annual black Friday shopping. From 9am until 11 pm. I was so tired by the time I got home I just threw everything in the spare room. I still haven't looked at it and don't know what I have and don't have. I'm getting too old for these 12 hour trips.

Good Morning!
We had a couple inches of snow a week ago. It's very cold here. Gonna try to finish my shopping this weekend. Hoping the malls will be clear of protesters.

I thought they stopped protesting. They must have a lot of spare time on their hands.

On the news last night there were protesters here protesting the NYC choke hold case. There only looked to be about 50 of them and it didn't last long. It was cold and I think they all just decided to go home.

I'm just about done with shopping. Next week I'll make a list and see what I bought so far ( damn if I can remember)

I bet you're getting all excited about your visitors. LOL

Are you kidding, the protesters are still gathering. I don't think any of them have jobs. Now Michael Browns family has been quiet for a few days. I bet it's because they are being investigated. The mother is accused of assaulting MB's grandmother and taking her money over some shirts she was selling. The moms boyfriend is being investigated over telling the protesters to burn Fergesen down. The poor cop is having to move around and stay out of sight because these thugs want him dead. I feel bad for him, you can't attach a cop and try taking his gun then charge at him. That MB made a very bad choice.
That choke hold case I don't know much about. The video shown was terrible. My personnel opinion is the man didn't really resist. He couldn't breathe. It's really sad.

My company will be here in a week. I thought I would take them to Ferguson for lunch. Haha!

Good Morning All.

Missy I have two great ideas for you.

You were trying to think of something to get youngest granddaughter. My daughter has a friend who's grandmother bought her a chain with a pearl when she was born and every year adds another pearl. I think it sounds like a great idea and will be a great keepsake for when she gets older. What do you think about it?

LOL..........love your idea about dropping your visitors off in Ferguson for lunch. After that they might stop coming for their annual visit.

Missy here's the story about daughter's loaner car. LOL

I just copied it from what I told Murph.
I've got to tell you what happened to my daughter last Sunday. First off she has some type of problem with her car so the dealership gave her a loaner to use. She went out of state with her MIL to visit another family remember. I had her text me when she got home to ask her about the trip and all she said was " it was all kinds of ridiculousness". Last night she was here and told me what happened. She's driving on the thruway and the car slows down and then just stops, She smelled gas, got out and looked and there was a trail of gas behind her and a puddle under the car. So she's waiting outside on the thruway in the freezing cold with her MIL. She's in some small town but finally locates a tow truck who can come get them in a hour. Meanwhile she's trying to call rental places nearby to get a loaner delivered but still has the issue of where to have the loaner towed to since it was from a dealership. All the closest rental places were closed and all she was getting was a recording. The tow truck driver shows up and says her best bet is getting a rental from the closest airport which is an hour away. So the tow truck driver gets a hold of the only cab driver the town has who just happens to be at the casino and can't pick them up for ay least 45 min's. So they get in the truck and the tow truck driver drops them off at some old broken down gas station that's closed. That's where the cabdriver is suppose to pick them up. My daughter then remember's that all the Christmas gifts she bought on Black Friday are in the trunk of the loaner. So now she and her Mother-in-law are standing outside in the snow holding about 20 bags and waiting on this cab driver. The car driver shows up in this old van that looked like it was on it's last leg. They pile in the van, gifts and all. He drives them the hour to the airport where they have to forever to the rental section ( carrying al those bags). Now daughter had bought MIL a griddle for Christmas and now has to re buy her another gift. She said she can't very well giver her the griddle now after MIL had been carrying it around for 3 hours. What kind of surprise would that be?

That sounds like a real nightmare. I went to the mall yesterday and it was so packed. Stood in line at American Girl for over a hour. You get up there to check out and they keep offering you more things to buy. I spent way to much in there. you can even buy kids clothes that match the dolls clothes.

Good Morning All

Looks like we're going to get about 6 inches of snow over the next 2 days. Looks like it's going to be that wet heavy snow at times. Hopefully we don't lose power.

Missy did you finish your shopping yet? I still have to check over my gifts and make a list to see who's got what. Maybe after I'll even think about wrapping some of them.

Hello to the "Lets Chat" thread. I've been reading a little of your thread and wondered if you would mind if I join in the conversation? "LizW, I agree with "The Real Missy", what a nightmare for your daughter. YIKES 6 inches of snow. The older I get the more I hate the winters. Last winter about did me in. I live in the Ann Arbor, Mi area. It's not been too bad yet but I know it's coming.
You all seem like a real nice group of people and thats the kind of thread I've been looking for. Good conversation with real people who respect each other. Did I find the right thread?:)

We ended up getting about 10 inches of snow yesterday and there's suppose to be more today. With everyone's Christmas lights and decorations out the outside looks like a pretty Christmas card.

Good Morning and Welcome!

LOL..........with my family it's one car issues after another. Although thinking of my daughter being stuck with her MIL and hauling all those Christmas gifts to different locations did give me a good laugh. She bought a new car a few weeks ago that has had a few issues, not major problems it's just part of the car seem to take forever to come in. She's had rentals for more time that she's had the new car. When she comes to visit I'm never quite sure what's she's going to be arriving in.

Yes the first snow fall is pretty but I'd rather be in Sarasota. There's a beach there called Lido Key. It's beautiful. I hope you have an AWD vehicle. lol And if you have little ones they probably love the snow. Last time I went sledding was with my grandkids back in Indiana. It was fun but boy was it ever cold. Brrrr....

Thanks for the welcome. And good morning to you too Liz.

My husband just bought me a 2013 Limited Edge (AWD). I like it so far. It has so many buttons to push and I'm still trying to figure what they are. Last time we bought a 2009 Escape which we ordered new because I couldn't find it in a toe nail red color that I wanted.(Toe nail red) thats what my son says it is. Anyway it's been a good vehicle but we only got a front wheel drive. We lived in Indiana at the time so now after last winter we decided we had to get an AWD. I sure hope I doesn't have any issues that your daughter had. lol If I do, I know I won't be having to drag a lot of gifts around because I don't shop anymore for Christmas. I give my kids and grandkids money. It works out better that way because they love to shop.
Ok I have to ask, what does MIL stand for?

Hi Milee.

I had to google what a Ford Edge was. It looks similar to my son's car, but his is a Chevrolet. I have AWD but really don't drive much when there's snow and ice
Are you originally from IN? I live in western NY. This is our first major snowfall of the season. Sledding..........I haven't been in years and I'm getting chilly just thinking about it. My kids were always more into snowboarding than the sledding. Three are grown and one is still in high school ( giving me gray hair).

MIL means Mother-in-law. My daughter said that the MIL was carrying most of her own presents and just didn't know it.

MIL...lol That makes the story even funnier. Hee!

Yes I'm originally from Indiana. We moved to Michigan due to my husbands job. He works in the auto industry. I'm a hair stylist but I only work part time. 16 to 20 hours a week is plenty for me. It is pretty here in the Ann Arbor area but I'd move back to Indiana in a heartbeat. I have two adult children (1 girl and 1 boy) 3 grandsons and 1 granddaughter. It's a 5 hour drive to go back home to see them which I do every chance I get. But I miss out on a lot of ballgames and cheer. You know the day to day activities in the grandkids lives. I became a mother at 16 and a grandmother at 36. My oldest grandson is 21. Time flies. Me and my husband have been here in Michigan for over 3 yrs now. We have to go where his job is.
With all the snow you were talking about, I figured you might be in the NY area. Either that or Alaska. Har!

Some days it does look like I live in Alaska!

Besides my youngest son who's still in high school I have 1 daughter who's married and 2 boy's ( both single). My daughter is too busy right now with work and wants to wait for few years before having kids. So no Grandkids for me unless one of the boy's pulls a fast one on me. If that's the case they'll be SO GROUNDED. I worry about the youngest. He's been dating a girl for almost a year and her parents don't seem to set any boundaries for her. He seems to be attacked to a certain type of girl. One of the last ones had a Mother who dropped her off at the boy's football banquet that's just for players and their families. Seriously who the hell does something like that.
