Good Morning All

Tribe your vase with the stones sounds like a good idea. Where did you put the vase?

Good luck with your herbs. Fresh herbs always have the best flavor.

Do you ever look at Pinterest for ideas? They have all sorts of decorating and gardening ideas.

Did anyone see the movie Gone Baby Gone? It made me think of Haleigh Cummings since I had always hoped she was still alive and just taken by someone who wanted her out of the environment she was living it.

I watched the movie a couple nights ago and I'm still torn about what I would have done in that detective's place.

Ruby, this is supposed to be in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Georgia. I think it's some kind of inn. Are you familiar with it? Probably a stupid question. I'm pretty sure North Ga covers a lot of square miles.
It make me think of you saying your driveway is steep.
You're right about huge land masses up here.
But I have to give Georgia credit, much of it is public
land use, especially in some beautiful, affordable parks.
The house in this picture is about norm for our area.
Our drive way is even steeper than that.

I haven't seen the movie.
I think about Haleigh from time to time.
I always thought the arrest of that bunch
on drug charges was a backdoor way to either
punish them for it or to see if someone would
crack and rat the others out.
Oh don't get me wrong~all of them deserve to be
in prison.
My hope is, they serve every single day they've
been sentenced to.
jmo~~Haleigh was dumped in St. John's River, there's
nothing left to retrieve at this point in time.

Funny we were talking about Lowry Park just the
other day, then I read an article about them nursing the baby manatees back to health from
algae sickness due to the red tide.

Good job Lowry Park Zoo!!!

Ruby the movie reminded me of Haliegh Cummings. The little girl was living with her Mom who was into drugs and other illegal activities, along with going to bars all the time and just leaving the girl with whoever. She disappears and the Mother doesn't seem too shaken up over it. The Aunt hires a PI to help find the baby. Long story short the PI discovers that the police took the baby and she was living with the police chief ( Morgan Freeman) and his wife. They doted on the little girl and she loved being with them, the detective was torn on about what he should do but in the end decided to report where the girl was. Hopefully it wasn't based on a true story because the little girl ended up back with the Mother. The PI went to visit the little girl and the Mother was on her way out and asked him to babysit. You could just tell he was thinking about what a big mistake he made bringing the baby back.

I think about the Haliegh Cummings case often. I know it doesn't make any sense that it wasn't one of those 3 who did something to Haliegh and whoever it was Misty at least knows the truth.
Then again if any of them knew anything they would have turned on each other a long time ago. Almost makes me think maybe they really don't know anything. At any rate at this point I doubt we'll ever know what happened to that poor baby.

Good evening Liz.

I put it on a shelf in my bedroom. It does look very pretty if I do say so myself. Hubby even thinks said it was pretty, which is a lot for him.

I've never got into the Pinterest thing yet. I'm not sure how it works.

Wow Ruby! That's pretty steep. It is pretty flat, of course you know, here in Florida. There is a road that runs in front of Lake Thonotosassa, which is not too far from my house. Across the street the driveways are kind of steep. I had to drive that way today as I-4 was backed up for some reason. A lady told my husband when we stopped for coffee that it took her over an hour to get between two exits. It should have taken 5 minutes at the most. Anyway, I cut down in front of the lake and don't you know all the rednecks living here were swimming and out boating in the lake. I know it's March, but it looked like summer time the way that place looked today.

:-) It's still to early (for me) to be swimming in March.

I was watching a documentary, I think it was on
PBS. It was about the dying art of past generations because the youth of today do not want
to learn it.
Such as, basket weaving, pine needle baskets,
folk art, etc.

I love that movie Liz. It was good.

My sister and I were talking about that earlier. A family who lived across the street from us when we were little lost their youngest child to Department of Children and Family Services. That bothered me so much when I was a young girl. It still does when I hear things like that. My sister is more practical than I am, and more sensible I guess. She said those people were just trash and that was why. I am still glad it is harder for the State to just come in and take your kids than it was back then. It has to traumatize the hell out of the children. I DO think law enforcement does think long and hard before they make such a rash decision, but it is still so heartbreaking.

I'm not sure exactly what state, but Walmart just recently caused a couple to have their children removed because the reported them to the authorities for taking pictures of one of their babies naked. A month or so later the judge threw it out of court, saying he and his wife would have went to jail as they had taken same kind of pictures of their kids when they were little. He said Walmart should train their employees better about what is considered porn and what isn't. I think law enforcement should have used a little better judgment about the whole situation, by my point is those children had to be traumatized living in foster care for a month or so. I would have been horrified, probably Baker Acted, if anyone had ever taken my kids from me when they were little.

I can't understand why one of them hasn't ratted the other out either. I don't love anyone enough to sit in prison 25 years for something I didn't do. I can't understand why none of them have talked.

Also, the little boy Kyron Hormon, the little boy whose step-mom supposedly dropped him off at school and he has never been seen again. How is it that no one has been caught or punished for that precious child's disappearance. Something is wrong in this world the way child murderers get away with it. I don't remember such things happening when we were young. Do you think this has always went on and we're just more informed about it because of cable news and the internet? It seems to me that with the technology we have the killers would be easier to find and keep behind bars for life.

Just looking on the computer I am amazed at how talented and smart young and old alike are as far as photography, technology, etc. There are some VERY, like you say Ruby, talented and creative people. I am amazed at what some people can do artistically. I cannot draw, paint or anything of that nature. I drew a bird for my oldest son when he was in kindergarten. It had 4 legs. My husband pointed it out to me. I would have let him take it to school.

I prefer books also, but can't concentrate lately. I think that is one reason my vision is poor. I used to read like a fiend.

My gripe is people using CPS for revenge against someone.
When it is discovered that someone has used the system like
that, they should be prosecuted for it.

CPS is a broken system that is overwhelmed with cases.
Of course with it being government, it's cutback after
cutback.
A lot of the cases are caused by drug addicted parents.

Most of us have never witnessed the squalor some of these
kids are forced to live in.

Ruby, I don't really go to either place anymore, but I enjoy Lowry Park more than I do the Florida Aquarium in downtown Tampa. At the aquarium they only have sea life. You just look at a huge aquarium. At Lowry Park, the new zoo, they have all of the animal exhibits, plus the aquarium. There is just so much more to enjoy and a great walk also.

I've never been artsy craftsy. I wish I was talented that way. I never had the patience. One of my oldest friends can work out in her yard for hours on end and has the most beautiful yard. I would die of skin cancer. The doctors have always told me to stay out of the sun. I've had it (skin cancer) twice already. I'm surprised I haven't had it more, but I have tried to stay out of the sun in the last 20-30 years or so. We did used to take the kids to the beach often, but always sat in the shade and used plenty of sunscreen, especially for the kids. They are not as fair complected as I am, thank goodness.

My daughter is talented gardening, scrapbooking, etc. She can make a clean and decorate a room with the cheapest odds and ends and make it look like a magazine. Me, not no much. I don't know where her talents came from. She just laughs at my attempts and changes things around when she comes over.

We sure haven't Ruby. I don't know what the answer is, but I don't believe our country, as much as I love this country and wouldn't want to live anywhere else, puts enough stock into taking care of our kids.

I see women on their damn cell phones (usually young) talking away while their babies are squalling in the sun and they won't even give the child a glance. I'd like to punch em' in the face, but I'd be arrested.

I did scream at a woman for leaving her little boy in the car. She said he forgot to put his shoes on. She left him in the car alone to punish him, but took the oldest one in with her. I was afraid to leave the store parking lot because the little boy was crying, so I waited. I asked her why she didn't pick him up, carry him and put him in a buggy if he didn't have his shoes on. She told me to mind my own business. I think it WAS my business, and I think I should have called the police on her. WTH? He forgot to put his shoes on? What kind of BS is that? Why didn't she put them on him? I better not get started.
