I'm loaded down here with presents for Tmom.
I told you about our feed store here.
Their branding irons were on sale, so I got you
one. Long gone are the days when you have to build
a fire to heat it up~~no sir re bob.
This bad boy is electric with an extra long cord.
Who knows, someday you and hubby might buy a herd
of cows and you'll be all set to brand them.
You can brag to all your friends about having something most people don't!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TMOM!!!
Thanks Ruby! You shouldn't have.

:-)

It's funny though, you talking about a branding iron. I've got a coupon for Bed, Bath and Beyond for next month and they have a regular Iron on sale I'm a gonna get myself. I know most folks don't iron anymore and I don't, most of the time, either, BUT there are always a couple of things that you own that just don't look right if they're not ironed (imho). Someone threw away or stole my freakin' iron, and I'm going to get me a new one.

I lead an exciting life.

This should bring a blast from the past for
some of us.
Good old days of the drive-in theaters...
I would love that old radio if it had good sound. I do have good memories of the drive-in movies, mostly with my older sister taking me and her kids, but one time I remember going with an old boyfriend "first date" we saw the Deer Hunter. I was embarrassed because I cried and I didn't/don't like to cry in front of people. I was afraid he'd think I was a crybaby (I am).

I still love that movie and the music and theme song to it.

Happy Birthday Tribe! Love the boots! I brought you the gnome! You can keep him ALL week-end. Pssst - don't let him near your cat if you have one. He will grant you a wish a day, so be good to him.
Ruby - OMG - my friend had 2 pairs of those space shoes. We wore them to a ball game once. lol Yeah, not a pretty ending so don't ask.
Thank you Shuaw, Hmmm, a wish a day! What to wish for?

No worries about a cat, allergic to high heaven. I'd end up in the emergency room.

I'll take good care of him. Promise!

LOL@Ruby. Tribe never struck me as the type would want a herd of cows. Maybe she could just sort of monogram her families clothing with her new branding iron.
I have to admit it's a unique gift idea.
LOL Liz! Mental telepathy, Ruby knew I need some kind of iron.

I think the Andrea Sneiderman trial is set for
late July.
Right now they're doing a bunch of can & can'ts
for when the trial starts.
jmo~~
IF she takes the stand, she will doom herself because she's so full of herself.

Some years ago, I ask my sister if I could have my iron back,
she had it for over a year.
She had the gall to insist it was her iron claiming I was mistaken
about lending it to her.

Well then, why do you have the iron but I have the box it
came in and the damn receipt for it~~
Wanna look for a serial number?

My daughter gave me a beautiful 3-container planter set and I had a 3 of my own. I just planted cooking herbs oregano, basil, mint, parsley and 2 differnt kind of cilantro herbs. A couple of them were tagged, but four of them weren't and although the young ladies at the vegetable/fruit stand near my house told me what they were I didn't write it down. I've got a beginners book (left from my brother's books). It's a beginner's guide. Wish me luck!! I so want to start doing something creative and think it would be so fun to cook with my own homegrown herbs. All suggestions welcome!
:-)

I have to say they look so pretty in those festive-looking planters. Now if they'll only live. I have a black thumb. My daughter has a green thumb and I'm hoping she can help me or give me advice. I'd like to keep them indoors. She said as long as I water and give them a little sunlight, maybe put on the back porch a little everyday that they should be alright. She also uses water (of course) and plant feed.

I bought these herbs at the fruit stand for only a dollar a piece, much more reasonable than the grocery store. They are too high. I honestly don't see how they can even be making any money at that price.

If I do okay with these herbs, I may try a small vegetable garden this year. Anyone know what is easy to grown in Florida? I'll have to read up on it.

I love advocado. My sister who doesn't live far from me and my neighbor who used to live next door to me used to grow pineapple. It was the best pineapple I've ever eaten.

One of my cousins, who knew my mother when she was young, told me that my mother used to have the most beautiful garden when she was young. I never knew that about my mother. I mean I saw her grow a few things in our yard, but thought it was because she was just bored. We had the prettiest yard on our street. She was just more into when she was young I guess because she had more time, was younger and felt more like doing it. It was nice to hear my cousin recounting her memories about my mother when she was young.

I did know she could point to practically any plant, flower or tree and tell you what it was. I can't tell you the difference between a bean or a turnip (well, not that bad).

I took the planters I had which I had my beautiful stone collection and in the other two I had some glass stone (you know the ones you put in aquariums and such). Anyhow, I had this large glass I guess what you would call a vase, but it's just long and clear, not really shaped like a vase. I put the real different looking stones at the bottom, a light crystal ice-tea-colored glass stones in the middle and the multi-colored stones on the top. I think it looks very pretty.

I know I'm weird, but it's okay. I like me.

Good Morning All

Tribe your vase with the stones sounds like a good idea. Where did you put the vase?

Good luck with your herbs. Fresh herbs always have the best flavor.

Do you ever look at Pinterest for ideas? They have all sorts of decorating and gardening ideas.

Did anyone see the movie Gone Baby Gone? It made me think of Haleigh Cummings since I had always hoped she was still alive and just taken by someone who wanted her out of the environment she was living it.

I watched the movie a couple nights ago and I'm still torn about what I would have done in that detective's place.

Ruby, this is supposed to be in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Georgia. I think it's some kind of inn. Are you familiar with it? Probably a stupid question. I'm pretty sure North Ga covers a lot of square miles.
It make me think of you saying your driveway is steep.
You're right about huge land masses up here.
But I have to give Georgia credit, much of it is public
land use, especially in some beautiful, affordable parks.
The house in this picture is about norm for our area.
Our drive way is even steeper than that.
