It's kind of sad now. The zoo is huge and to kids today it's just not that big of a deal. Seems like our generation just appreciated things so much more than the kids of today.
Oh yes, I guess it (the article) must be talking about the 25th Anniversary of the new zoo, which is very nice. I saw another article where one of the readers said he was sad that the rainbow was torn down, which I was/am not aware of. I haven't been in years, however like you said it was an all day visit when I was a kid. We usually ended up having a picnic when we went. My older sister would drive us and her kids, along with my mom, my younger sister and me.
No, I never shopped at Del Webb's. My best friends mom lives there (in Sun City) and my sister did, but moved back to Tallahassee. Was Del Webb's a nice place to shop?
