The food is really good. Southern cooking at it's finest, but it's not cheap! I think about $20 per person. The last place in the first video you posted is the outside of it. I love the houses there. Big old houses with lots of porches.

JaneDear~~
There are many small towns like Social Circle in Georgia, especially down south.
One of the many reasons I love Georgia.
You should see some of the towns down that way when the Peonies and Camillias are in bloom.
I've been taking a youtube tour around Georgia- just soo pretty.
I tried looking up the peonies and camillias...ran into some lady trying to sell me Jesus. Love the way she talked lol.

Me too!
I'd take an old home like one of those over a new one anyday.

I went with a friend yesterday to look at an old house & she was talking about what all she'd rip out and change if she buys it. I think she's nuts. Why ruin a perfectly good house?
The house isn't as old as the ones in the video but still...

That cracked me up.
I read that the oldest person in the world passed away the other day and I think she was from Georgia. See, that southern cooking is really good and good for you too.

The landscaping! man that is a pretty place...

I'd love to have a flower garden but I don't have a green thumb.... and I'm terrified of snakes. I dont even have a shrub.

Here's the lady and the house from Social Circle. You don't have to buy the video to watch it.

The older houses have more character and sure are built better then the new ones. The house we have in Michigan has been completely redone but it needed it. I can't wait to move there and decorate the big wrap around porch.

We are taking ArtGal to Alligator Wrestling School~~
Maybe our next adventure should be snake handling for
you.
Not everyone knows how to milk a snake, wouldn't you
like to brag to your family and friends that you are
certified in milking snakes?
I'll get back with you when I find out the details...

jmo~~
Some houses need updating but the really old ones
need restoration.
There's a salvage place near us, huge building full
of old stuff such as claw foot bathtubs, chandeliers, barn siding, ornate mantels, you name it.

I'm not against some updating...like kitchens and such.

That friend I went with wanted to paint over the woodwork...tear down walls..change fixtures.

some of the best things about the house IMO

I DO TOO!!!
I like kitchen stuff from the 40's and especially the 50's.
I think one of the ugliest eras was the 80's~~the starkness of
it just always seemed cold to me.
Although, the 70's had some butt ugly stuff to, especially the
"earth" colors.
