Did you ever hear of a town called Social Circle in Georgia. My haunted house show last night was about a family from there. If you ever move don't buy the big White house in Social Circle, it's really creepy.<quoted text>
Social Circle is close to me. Wish I'd seen that show. I was actually in Social Circle yesterday for a while. It's a very small town. One stop light in the middle of town. Check out Blue Willow Inn there--it once was rated one of the top 5 buffets in the country on one of those food shows. It's a beautiful house.

I thought of Cov when I read Social Circle~~
I knew she was close in proximity.
I think it's a beautiful, quaint little town.
I remember reading something significant happened there during the Civil War but can't remember what
it was.

Yes she will, I remember my daughter calling me - she was crying. She sent her hubby after chicken, he wanted fried chicken and fixins'. She said he bought a chicken that said fryer, but it wasn't cause it was a whole F'ing chicken. Good thing she loves me cause I started laughing, she said it's not funny, can I take it back. I said "honey, just cut it up and fry it. She says "WHAT - cut it how?" lmao I talked her thru it. She still talks about me laughing at her in her hour of need......
I hated to cut up a chicken~~
I knew how to do it, didn't like to do it and wasn't very good at
it.
My mother-in-law on the other hand was like a ninja when it came to
cutting a chicken for frying.
I commented on it one day as I was watching her, she laughed and
said, I used to have to kill it and singe the pin feathers off it.
Have we got it good this modern day or what?

JaneDear~~
There are many small towns like Social Circle in Georgia, especially down south.
One of the many reasons I love Georgia.
You should see some of the towns down that way when the Peonies and Camillias are in bloom.

The food is really good. Southern cooking at it's finest, but it's not cheap! I think about $20 per person. The last place in the first video you posted is the outside of it. I love the houses there. Big old houses with lots of porches.

I'd take an old home like one of those over a new one anyday.

I went with a friend yesterday to look at an old house & she was talking about what all she'd rip out and change if she buys it. I think she's nuts. Why ruin a perfectly good house?
The house isn't as old as the ones in the video but still...

That cracked me up.
I read that the oldest person in the world passed away the other day and I think she was from Georgia. See, that southern cooking is really good and good for you too.

The landscaping! man that is a pretty place...

I'd love to have a flower garden but I don't have a green thumb.... and I'm terrified of snakes. I dont even have a shrub.

The older houses have more character and sure are built better then the new ones. The house we have in Michigan has been completely redone but it needed it. I can't wait to move there and decorate the big wrap around porch.

We are taking ArtGal to Alligator Wrestling School~~
Maybe our next adventure should be snake handling for
you.
Not everyone knows how to milk a snake, wouldn't you
like to brag to your family and friends that you are
certified in milking snakes?
I'll get back with you when I find out the details...

Some houses need updating but the really old ones
need restoration.
There's a salvage place near us, huge building full
of old stuff such as claw foot bathtubs, chandeliers, barn siding, ornate mantels, you name it.

I'm not against some updating...like kitchens and such.

That friend I went with wanted to paint over the woodwork...tear down walls..change fixtures.

some of the best things about the house IMO
