Never heard of that show. But Desperate Housewives is made for liberal women anyway so wouldn't know if they're making another series here. Lily would probably know though.

Report says Valerie Jarrett gave the order to stand down in Benghazi

August 8, 2013
A post at the Conservative Report Online made the shocking claim that Obama adviser Valerie Jarrett gave the order to stand down in Benghazi during the Sept. 11 terror attack that saw four Americans killed, citing only unnamed "confidential sources." The report was discussed by Rush Limbaugh on Tuesday and an editorial at the Investor's Business Daily said Wednesday that it would not have been the first time Jarrett issued such an order.
"The military-order, not to initiate action, saving our men in Benghazi, was issued by the President's Advisor, Valerie Jarrett," Chip Jones wrote.
Limbaugh said that if the story is true, it would explain "all of the serial lies and the cover-ups and the obfuscation and all of the efforts that were made to distract people's attention from this."
"Somebody had to give the order, and Obama was off the grid. That has always, to me, been one of the most interesting aspects of Benghazi. Five o'clock he tells Panetta and whoever else -- we were originally told that Hillary, secretary of state, was there, too," he added.
Naturally, the ultra-left wing Media Matters weighed in, attacking Limbaugh for mentioning the story.
Others also reported on Jones' account, but did not get scrutinized by Media Matters.
The Blaze said the allegations are worth noting for two main reasons:
The White House hasn’t been forthcoming with details about the deadly terror attack. In fact, the administration has gone out of its way to craft blatantly false narratives involving a YouTube video; and
It’s been widely reported that Jarrett’s influence has shaped our management of international crises, specifically her role in convincing President Obama to call off the planned raid on Osama bin Laden’s Pakistani hideout three separate times.
Meredith Jessup said she is taking the report with a grain of salt, but added that the burden of proof is on the White House, since it "has worked overtime to muddy the water and obfuscate the truth."
Now the administration is claiming the entire scandal is "phony," a mere distraction cooked up by Republicans to keep Congress from acting on Obama's economic plans.
"Until the Obama administration is forthright and truthful with the American people, the rumor mill will continue churning out reports from unnamed sources," Jessup added.
Doesn't Valerie Jarrett make all the decisions? Bet she's the "powers that be" Charlie Rangel seemed so afraid of bucking years ago.

See, you are making the same mistake you made during the Romney campaign. Listening to faux news instead of facing the facts. "Success isn't looking so good" is right out the mouth of people like Rush Limbaugh. I'd think you would have learned by now to think for yourself instead of parrot reich wing talking heads.
I'm hoping the Affordable Care Act is a success as it helps millions of people. If it fails, it should fail on its own merits. Not because Hate Talk Bobble Heads succeeded in filling people's heads with lies and propaganda.
If you think people are lining up to sign on to this crazy thing with inaccurate information being received by insurers, the lack of privacy and security on the website and general confusion and shock by a lot of people either because they don't know what's going on or have already found out what's going on the hard way, you're really out of the loop.

You just aren't being told anything intentionally. So you will continue to defend the indefensible.

A trolley bus blast in the Russian city of Volgograd has killed at least 10 people, emergencies services reported. The explosion comes a day after a terrorist attack in the city killed 17 people and injured scores of others.

At least 10 people have been injured by the blast on Monday morning, the report said.

Police are currently at the scene investigating the cause of the incident.

Russia’s Investigative Committee believes the explosion could have been a new terrorist attack.

Again, Lorac, when have ANY of your 'it's the end of the world' predictions ever come true?
SS is just fine.
After 2033, Social Security could pay three-fourths of scheduled benefits using its tax income if policymakers took no steps to shore up the program.(Those who fear that Social Security won’t be around at all when today’s young workers retire and that young workers will receive no benefits misunderstand the trustees’ projections.)
The program’s shortfall is relatively modest, amounting to 1 percent of Gross Domestic Product (GDP) over the next 75 years (and 1.6 percent of GDP in 2087, the 75th year). A mix of tax increases and benefit modifications — carefully crafted to shield recipients with limited means and to give ample notice to all participants — could put the program on a sound footing indefinitely. Social Security benefits are very modest. The average retiree or elderly widow receives just $15,000 a year from Social Security (and the average disabled worker even less); an unmarried elderly person, on average, has just $3,000 in annual income other than his or her Social Security. Accordingly, taxes should make up a large proportion of a solvency package.
http://www.cbpp.org/cms/...
If only that were true. Nothing I like more than the idea of young liberals working their tails off to support my retirement.

But, unfortunately, it's not true.

In the 2003 Annual Report to Congress, the Social Security Trustees announced:
•The projected point at which tax revenues will fall below program costs comes in 2018 -- one year later than the estimate in last year’s report;
•The projected point at which the trust funds will be exhausted comes in 2042 -- one year later than the estimate in last year’s report;
•The Trust Funds would require another $3.5 trillion in today’s dollars, earning interest at Treasury rates, to pay all scheduled benefits over the next 75 years.

Today, there are 3.3 workers paying Social Security payroll taxes for every one person collecting Social Security benefits. That number will drop to 2 to 1 in less than 40 years. At this ratio there will not be enough workers to pay scheduled benefits at current tax rates.

Like I said, if you're young and think SS will be there for you, better start a Plan B.

So it's January 30. After tomorrow, ker-plop...the other shoe is going to drop.

Already over 5 million have had cancellations of private insurance. Wait until the first 5 million lose employer-based insurance and the sparks start flying again when they realize how much more they have to pay for coverage they don't want or need too.

Then the next 5 or 10 million...etc., etc., etc.

It's really going to get interesting.

Wonder how long it's going to take to find out insurers are still receiving inaccurate information and identity thefts are the newest glitch.

But we'll have to wait with bated breath to see if 2 to 3 million young healthy adults agree to pay more for insurance they didn't want to afford before - much less now.

All the excitement and suspense starts in just two more days.

“Is that all you've got?”

Shouldn't you be more worried about feeding this problem and our becoming a nanny state?
What good does it do anyone if more and more people have no jobs and no money to feed themselves?
Obama hasn't increased the poverty level you goddamned liar! It's because those like the Walton family maintain their wealthy status by paying their employees crap wages. It's because the GOP is resisting any attempts to raise the minimum wage to a level that would pull the working poor out of poverty and not be dependent on public assistance programs like SNAP.
Guess what president's policies did increase poverty in this country Carol? It was your hero Ronald Reagan. The number of people living beneath the federal poverty line rose from 26.1 million in 1979 to 32.7 million in 1988. Meanwhile, the rich got much richer. By the end of the decade, the richest 1 percent of Americans had 39 percent of the nation’s wealth.

Keystone XL Pipeline Project
The Keystone XL Pipeline is a proposed 1,179-mile (1,897 km), 36-inch-diameter crude oil pipeline beginning in Hardisty, Alta., and extending south to Steele City, Neb. This pipeline is a critical infrastructure project for the energy security of the United States and for strengthening the American economy.
Along with transporting crude oil from Canada, the Keystone XL Pipeline will also support the significant growth of crude oil production in the United States by allowing American oil producers more access to the large refining markets found in the American Midwest and along the U.S. Gulf Coast.
------
Keystone XL Pipeline Project
Keystone XL Pipeline will be the safest and most advanced pipeline operation in North America. It will not only bring essential infrastructure to North American oil producers, but it will also provide jobs, long-term energy independence and an economic boost to Americans.

FOR America-NOT against it!!
Sure dumbass the Keystone site paints such a rosy picture but even Fox News isn't buying it.
1. Keystone XL Would Not Reduce Foreign Oil Dependency
The oil to be sent through Keystone XL pipeline was never destined for US markets. In its own presentation to investors about the proposed pipeline extension, TransCanada (the company behind Keystone XL) boasted that most if not all of the extracted and refined oil would be exported --- sold in oversees markets where oil fetches a higher price (and thus turns a higher profit for the company).
2. Keystone XL Would Have Increased Domestic Oil Prices
Currently, Canadian oil reserves stored in the Midwest help suppress gas prices in the United States, particularly for farmers in our nation’s heartland.
In its permit application for the pipeline, TransCanada noted that the Keystone XL pipeline would allow the company to drain these reserves and export that fuel as well. According to TransCanada’s own statements , this would raise gas prices in the United States, especially in the Midwest.
3. Keystone XL Overstated Number of Jobs to be Created
In 2008, TransCanada’s original permit application to the State Department said the Keystone XL pipeline would create “a peak workforce of approximately 3,500 to 4,200 construction personnel” in temporary jobs building the pipeline.
By 2011, now facing growing opposition to the pipeline, TransCanada had inflated these numbers (using undisclosed formulas) to 20,000. Supporters of the proposal, backed by big oil, have since trumpeted these trumped up numbers.
4. Current Keystone Pipeline Leaked 12 Times in Last Year
The pipeline that the Obama administration has rejected the permit for would be an extension of a pipeline that has already leaked -- not just once, but 12 times in the last year.
While TransCanada tried to dismiss these leaks as “minor” averaging “just five to 10 gallons of oil” each, the leak on May 7, 2011 near Millner, N.D., spilled about 21,000 gallons of oil in total.
5. The Environmental Concerns About Oil Leaks Are Justified
Nebraska’s Republican Governor Dave Heineman strongly opposed the Keystone XL project because the pipeline would run through a massive and vital aquifer in his state the supplies clean drinking water to over 2 million Americans plus water that fuels the region’s agriculture industry.

Meanwhile, in Michigan where a similar tar sands pipeline spilled over 840,000 gallons of crude oil into the Kalamazoo River in 2010, residents are still complaining of headaches, dizziness and nausea while studies continue to look at the long-term effects of just being near such an oil spill when it happens.
