Wow!! I'm looking over the past posts, and the sad fact of the matter is: nobody seems to like you, or value what you're trying to say.
If I were you, I'd seriously reconsider whether I should continue on. Not just on topix mind you, but overall. Go downtown, score some oxy, and take that last final ride on down to chimp heaven....:-)
I've been looking over your past posts and nothing you say has any connection to reality.
Why don't you just keep chewing that "Sweden" bone no matter what the discussion is.

Maybe it will work like existing Immigration Laws, which are ignored by the federal government and liberal sanctuary cities.

Actually, the Supreme Court designated it a tax and not a government mandate, so at least we haven't become a totalitarian state just yet, thank goodness.

They also said states could opt out.

Of course, Obama himself decided who could ignore his new tax law and who couldn't.

Kind of shoots all kinds of holes in it.

To the United States Federal Government:
The U.S. Postal Service was established in 1775. You had 237 years to get it right and it is broke.
Social Security was established in 1935. You had 77 years to get it right and it is broke.
Fannie Mae was established in 1938. You had 74 years to get it right and it is broke.
War on Poverty started in 1964. You had 48 years to get it right; $1 trillion of our money is confiscated each year and transferred to "the
poor" and they only want more.
Medicare and Medicaid were established in 1965. You had 47 years to get it right and they are broke.
Freddie Mac was established in 1970. You had 42 years to get it right and it is broke.
The Department of Energy was created in 1977 to lessen our dependence on foreign oil. It has ballooned to 16,000 employees with a budget of $24 billion a year and we import more oil than ever before. You had 35 years to get it right and it is an abysmal failure.
And now you want to run our health care system.
Does anyone have any common sense anymore?
how long has the Republican party been around?

any idea of when they'll finally get it right?

I agree, but since we're dealing with dysfunctional semi-literate megalomaniacs from the right, we can use the term, "extortion" if they wish...unfortunately no good deal shuts them up.

"Extortion

The obtaining of property from another induced by wrongful use of actual or threatened force, violence, or fear, or under color of official right.

Under the Common Law, extortion is a misdemeanor consisting of an unlawful taking of money by a government officer. It is an oppressive misuse of the power with which the law clothes a public officer. Most jurisdictions have statutes governing extortion that broaden the common-law definition. Under such statutes, any person who takes money or property from another by means of illegal compulsion may be guilty of the offense. When used in this sense, extortion is synonymous with blackmail, which is extortion by a private person. In addition, under some statutes a corporation may be liable for extortion."

So Obamacare changes nothing.
It gives people who couldn't afford insurance the opportunity to get preventive care and it makes insurance available to those denied insurance due to a pre-existing medical condition, including pregnancy and a disability. And, for all of us, insurers will now have to justify any move to raise health plans premiums by 10 percent or more. Those changes are not "NOTHING".

MSNBC abandons health care exchange demo due to long waits, glitches

MSNBC news producers abandoned their attempt to demonstrate the new health care exchange at healthcare.gov .

While repeatedly trying to access the New York, Maryland and New Jersey health care sites, news anchor Mara Schiavocampo eventually called a phone help line for assistance after the web chat function didn't work.

"This is the second call, so I've probably spent almost 20 minutes on the phone now. We started about 35 minutes ago, so at this point I'm going to hang up and call it a day," she explains on the show. "If I was signing up for myself, this is where my patience would be exhausted."
