Strange, I always thought being a Liberal literally meant you had to be liberal. ;)

On the other hand, who gives a shit if the government "shuts down"?
Social Security will still be paid.
The military will still be paid.
Nobody needs the bureaucrats.
House Republicans made it clear the government will not shut down by defunding Obamacare.

Republican Senator Mike Lee said on Meet the Press, "We all know that the government is going to be funded. The question is, whether it will be funded with Obamacare or without."

Another option in the House would be for Republicans to attach new conditions to the bill such as a possible delay in implementation of Obamacare and send it back to the Senate for a majority vote.

The majority don't want Obamacare and the majority don't want a government shut down either. So it looks like Harry Reid is in the hot seat to me.

LOL. Explain again how the "media" is so liberal when Murdock's NewsCorp is the 2nd largest media conglomerate on the face of the planet and it spews the right wing, Wall Street , blue blood, billionaire spin 24/7? And I must say he did a great job burying the story about the English criminal indictments of the numerous News of the World employees for hacking the phones of murder victims & war widows simply to sell papers then bribing cops to cover it up. But the "liberal media" is so bad. LOL

The majority don't want Obamacare. It's Obama and the Democrats who don't care.

Get it straight.

That is not a "FACT", it's a fallacy. I belong to an HMO and there is never any hesitation on their part to refer me to a specialist. In fact, I would say it is my primary care physician's goal to make sure I see as many specialists as necessary for whatever ails me. No stone is left unturned.
You are a fool being manipulated by a bargain basement medical plan.

HMOs charge less by denying appropriate services.

If you need to see a primary care physician to get access to a specialist, you may be losing critical time.

Primary care physicians are basically useless.

No, they forced banks to give bad loans - and demonized republicans for daring to suggest reining in Fannie and Freddie.
How easily you forget that it was George W. Bush who made "no downpayment" a reality which gave home buyers absolutely no incentive to avoid foreclosure.

During the signing ceremony of S. 811, The American Dream Downpayment Act, President George W. Bush delivers remarks at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development in Washington, D.C., Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2003:

"One of the biggest hurdles to homeownership is getting money for a down payment," said President Bush. "This administration has recognized that, and so today I'm honored to be here to sign a law that will help many low-income buyers to overcome that hurdle, and to achieve an important part of the American Dream...."

"The rate of homeownership amongst minorities is below 50 percent. And that's not right, and this country needs to do something about it. We need to close the minority homeownership gap in America so more citizens have the satisfaction and mobility that comes from owning your own home, from owning a piece of the future of America."

"Many people are able to afford a monthly mortgage payment, but are unable to make the down payment. So this legislation will authorize $200 million per year in down payment assistance to at least 40,000 low-income families. These funds will help American families achieve their goals, and at the same time, strengthen our communities."

"And so now it my honor, right here at this important Department, the Department responsible for encouraging homeownership in America, to sign the American Dream Downpayment Act."

The U.N has been trying to take away U.S citizens "right to bear arms" for a very long time. They (the U.N) want to be, eventually, the only "entity" allowed to bear arms.

Down payment assistance to qualified buyers.

Big difference. A down payment is a fraction of the cost of a mortgage loan for an overpriced house by an unqualified buyer they can't afford.

Well, anyway, I'm more mentally exhausted these days with the big changes going on with the house and all.

So I'll have to regroup and pick up again where I left off tomorrow and say an earlier than usual goodnight.

Yep.

FACT: "50% of subprime loans were made by mortgage service companies not subject to comprehensive federal supervision and another 30% were made by affiliates of banks or thrifts which are not subject to routine supervision or examinations." Nothing to do with Fannie and Freddie.

So, those who could not qualify for loans from reputable institutions went to the mortgage equivalent of the payday loan office.

Who bought the crummy loans from these storefronts?

Those who are offered medical insurance by their employers are not eligible for taxpayer subsidies on the exchanges. The unions want special treatment to give them taxpayer subsidies, even though they have employer-paid insurance. Even your girl Obama has told them that the law does not permit that.

Former teacher.
Clinton and Reagan tried to find common ground with their opposition. So did both Bush's.
It's one thing for a president to stand firm and try to convince the opposition to get on board with their vision or agenda. It's quite another thing to ignore the opposition and then blame them.
The cons today aren't interested in finding common ground.

After all, McConnell said:

"The single most important thing we want to achieve is for President Obama to be a one-term president." as well as saying

"And we need to treat this election as the first step in retaking the government."

So you need to get your facts straight.
