Just quoting James Hansen, director of NASA's Goddard Institute of Space Studies, who started the clamor for action to prevent global warming but who wrote in the 1998 Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences that "the forcings that drive long-term climate change are not known with accuracy sufficient to define future climate change."
Sorry to burst your comfortably-insulated global warming bubble.
Dick Durbin (D Walgreens) announces that the Great Lakes are evaporating at an alarming rate. However they are exactly the same as last year. And now as of today the Chicago area has flooded again. The last flood was less than two months ago. I don't know how Dick is keeping all that rain out of Lake Michigan.

We still have an economy in the tank, countries around the world are thumbing their noses at Lord Obama (they discovered he's a poser), Benghazi, IRS, NSA wiretapping-- now what is the Annointed One charging after?
GLOBAL WARMING! Yep, heard this morning he wants to start taxing the hell out of anything that emits carbon dioxide.
Two weeks ago we in Idaho were told that our electric rates are going up 12% because, among other things, the utilities bought expensive windmills that were subsidized by the federal gubbermint. Now that the feds are unable to continue subsidizing them, we're stuck with these windmills, which will never make electricity as economically as carbon fuels.
Oh yeah, we'll just absorb another Socialist/Democrat brain fart. Just like Obamacare, which we get to start paying for BIG TIME next year.
I wish there was a way to isolate the Socialist/Democrats so that THEY pay for their idiotic ideas. If they want socialized medicine, FINE! If they want to pay triple the amount for their electricity because of some myth about global warming, FINE! Just let the rest of us who haven't taken leave of our brains opt out.
It's astonishing and unbelievable at the same time.

Don't know which is the more bizarre - how astonishing and unbelievable it is or liberals panting and wagging their tails in anticipated excitement of getting a treat for their undying loyalty.

During the Obama administration, the Justice Department initially defended DOMA in court despite the administration’s desire to repeal it. But the Justice Department changed course in early 2011, finding that the law was unconstitutional and declining to defend it any longer. House Republicans have since spent hundreds of thousands of dollars taking over that defense.

I am going to have to pay out of pocket for every thing I choose just like I do now. I do not use western medicine--and that is what O'bama covers. Medication for the masses. Not about health, not about care. This is not right wing. This is about people who care about their own health, not some government telling them.
Under the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, otherwise known as "Obamacare," what is now called alternative medicine may become as accessible and widely accepted as conventional care.

The controversial act specifically mentions complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) and integrative healthcare in seven different sections throughout the law. This is thanks in part to the efforts of the Integrative Healthcare Policy Consortium, a coalition of major organizations started at the request of legislators in Washington devoted to the promotion of CAM and integrative healthcare in the U.S.

The Defense of Marriage Act, the law barring the federal government from recognizing same-sex marriages legalized by the states, is unconstitutional, the Supreme Court ruled Wednesday by a 5-4 vote.

"The federal statute is invalid, for no legitimate purpose overcomes the purpose and effect to disparage and to injure those whom the State, by its marriage laws, sought to protect in personhood and dignity,” Justice Anthony Kennedy wrote in the majority opinion.“By seeking to displace this protection and treating those persons as living in marriages less respected than others, the federal statute is in violation of the Fifth Amendment.”

Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia is outraged—outraged—that the majority of the Court overturned the Defense of Marriage Act, writing in his dissent that "We have no power under the Constitution to invalidate this democratically adopted legislation" and that the decision represents an "exalted notion of the role of this court in American democratic society." Because, don't you know, DOMA was passed by Congress democratically and therefore the Court should not touch it.

One question: Where was this Scalia when the Supreme Court was deciding to gut the Voting Rights Act, which was renewed by Congress in 2006?

GlObal warning/Climate change go hand & hand. I don't need scientist nor a govt big wig to tell me that something is effecting the weather severely. I live in New Jersey. Just by demographic, New Jersey is not known for extreme weather. In a years time, we had an earthquake, hurricane, tornado, & an unspecified storm that was widespread like a hurricane but, left a path like a tornado. I see climate change with my own 2 eyes. Global warming is the cause, climate change if the effect. Republicans will do anything for consumption of money &, lying/ignoring Global warming is no exception! Just as sure as cutting down too many trees has an effect on this planet, so does taking too much oil from the earths core & burning into the heavens with no exhaust.

The pre-existing conditions part would have been an acceptable democratic contribution to the republicans no-nonsense, common sense and rational solutions in lowering the costs of health care.

But democrats aren't interested in no-nonsense, common sense and rational solutions that lower the cost of anything.

The point of course, is that President Obama will not be reelected in 2016?
Democrats voter registration efforts received a major boost yesterday. Guess how?
Missing your daily Benghazi post?
by giving left leaning ACORNesque groups funding via ObamaCare?

'...What is known so far suggests that California politicians are exploiting health reform to enroll millions of the uninsured in the Democratic Party and fill the coffers of left-wing interest groups with taxpayer money. Here are the facts:

California lawmakers passed a law requiring that voter registration be part of the health-insurance exchange. Last month, Covered California announced $37 million in grants to 48 organizations to build public awareness about the opening of the health exchange. Of the 48 groups that got grants, only a handful are health-care-related.

The California NAACP got $600,000 to do door-to-door canvassing and presentations at community organizations. Service Employees International Union, which says its mission is “economic justice,”received two grants totaling $2 million to make phone calls, robo-calls and go door-to-door.

The Los Angeles County Federation of Labor AFL-CIO got $1 million for door-to-door, one-on-one education and social networking. It describes its role as “engaging in both organizing and political campaigns, electing pro-union and pro-worker candidates.”

Community Health Councils, a California organization with a long history of political activism against fracking, for-profit hospitals, state budget cuts and oil exploration, got $1 million to conduct presentations at community and neighborhood meetings and one-to-one sessions.

These groups, closely allied with Democrats, are being funded by your tax dollars to conduct “outreach”— the kind of phone-banking and door-to-door canvassing that activists do to turn out the vote. They will turn out the uninsured to enroll in the exchanges and in the Democratic Party.

California’s actual enrollment process is also outsourced to community groups, unions and health clinics. An additional $49 million is budgeted to pay them the first year, but in future years, these assisters will be paid out of the premiums collected by the exchange. The template is repeated in every state. ObamaCare creates a permanent, nationwide stream of funding for unions and community activists.

Assisters will also guide the uninsured to sign up for whatever non-health social services they may be eligible for — including welfare, food stamps and housing assistance, according to the manual prepared for California’s implementation.

Anyone who remembers the days of James Curley, Boss Tweed and Tammany Hall should get the picture. If you were poor or a newcomer, you went to the local ward boss and got whatever you needed, in exchange for your vote. The difference is that back then, politics was local. Now the Obama health law is institutionalizing this corrupt style of politics across the country to create a permanent, Democratic voting majority.'

Let's just do a "fact-based" test, shall we?

1. Under which presidents was the CRA created and expanded?
2. Are there more democrats including blacks and Hispanics in California or more republicans?
3. Do all democrats condone abortion?
4. Which party's leadership started more wars since the 1900s?

If you answered:
1. Carter and Clinton.
2. More democrats in California.
3. No.
4. The Democratic Party.

Then you passed.

Community Reinvestment Act had nothing to do with subprime crisis

Fresh off the false and politicized attack on Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, today we’re hearing the know-nothings blame the subprime crisis on the Community Reinvestment Act — a 30-year-old law that was actually weakened by the Bush administration just as the worst lending wave began. This is even more ridiculous than blaming Freddie and Fannie.
