#5. When most people hear the words,“tax hike,” they naturally assume raising income taxes. But tax rates dropped dramatically across-the-board during Reagan’s tenure.

Many of Reagan’s so-called “tax increases” were actually examples of ending deductions.

One of the tax increases was the Highway Revenue Act of 1982, a temporary increase in the federal gas tax from 4 to 9 cents. Another was a cigarette tax. These are real tax increases, but not to be confused with the income tax.

Reluctantly, Reagan agreed to the largest tax increase of his presidency, the Tax Equity and Fiscal Responsibility Act of 1982, after being offered a deal by the Democrats to agree to cut spending in return. The Democratic Congress then promptly proceeded to ignore the planned spending cuts.

Sound familiar?

Reagan cut more taxes than raised them.

So I would say your source is intentionally misleading on this one.

IMHO, to be a great Law Enforcement Professional, it takes a special, creative talent. Some of this can be taught but the majority of the talent is inbred, innate and special to the individual.

Problem: too many wackos or those individuals lacking the fundamental talents are drawn in to Law Enforcement. Like Trayvon Martins at one extreme with Barny Fifes at the other.

Brother Kwamie, the corrupt former Detroit Mayor, had cop bodyguards who were actual felons. He hired felons!

Worse, Detroit hires felons in general to be cops. I've read that L.A. hires felon Gang Members because of their valued "experience" on the street. Like hiring prostitutes for sex therapy clinics.

Cops: can't live with 'em, can't live without 'em.

When it comes to making higher education more affordable, Washington has a go-to answer: "Sorry, we can't afford it." But when the Wall Street banks that crashed our economy ask for a favor, it seems like there's no limit to Washington's generosity.
Case in point: While federal student loan rates are set to hit 6.8% on July 1st, banks can still borrow money from the government for a mere 0.75% interest.
We treat our corporations better than our children. That's not what parents do. Plain and simple.
Elizabeth Warren and DFA are working to fix that double-standard. If a student wants a little help paying for their education, they should get the same deal as Wall Street's biggest banks. Senator Reid has scheduled a hearing on Elizabeth Warren's new Student Loan Bill this week. Write your Congressmen and urge them to stand with Elizabeth Warren. For the first time in history, Americans owe more in student debt than credit card bills. For a new graduate, that burden means sacrificing dreams -- buying a home, opening a business, starting a family. It often means struggling simply to make ends meet.
This is our next crisis. If we don't act now, we cripple our kids' futures, and set our entire economy up to fail again. "If you're one of the 37 million Americans with student loan debt, you're in for a real treat come July 1. That's when interest rates on federal student loans are set to rise to 6.8 percent—double the current rate of 3.4 percent. That deadline has lawmakers scrambling for a fix. There are a bunch of proposals out there, including Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren's call for students to be allowed to pay the low, low rate that big banks pay for short-term borrowing; a plan President Barack Obama laid out in his budget in April; and the GOP plan that just passed the House—a plan Obama hates." Student Loan Debt Is a Beast. Here Are Elizabeth Warren's, President Obama's, and the GOP's Plans to Fix It.

The whole notion of an "invasion" is actually inaccurate. It is a liberal word to incite anger and intentionally misleading.

invasion - 1. The act of invading, especially the entrance of an armed force into a territory to conquer or plunder.

We had no intention of conquering or plundering in Iraq.

"Invasion" is something Saddam did in Kuwait and what Hitler did in Poland and much of Europe.

We overthrew a tyrant and a madman who was a clear and present danger to the civilized world.

Iraqis now vote for their own leaders. There are new schools and roads and infrastructure. We left much of Iraq in better shape than when we found it.

It is still a struggling democracy and only time will tell if it can overcome it's cultural obstacles.

But please don't use the word "invasion" in describing our purpose in Iraq.

But Zimmerman could have also complied with being told to stay put and letting the police handle it. They were there within minutes after Martin was shot.
It's up to the jurors to decide.
Define "minutes". Zimmerman had every right to do everything he did. Martin's stupidity, violence and racism caused his death. Usually his type don't run into an armed citizen.

I guess someone in the Aurora theater should have just waited for the police? In Newtown? We have a right to defend ourselves from criminals, Martin was a criminal committing a crime.

What, guilt that he exposed war crimes ? That is what he admitted guilt to.
Why isn't there any Bradley's in the Chinese regime exposing corruption and stolen intellectual property. Because they know if they are caught they are dead and probably their family as well.
So the US needs organisations like WikiLeaks to go after these ppl instead of shutting them down leaving the Chinese out on their own to hack anyone they like. The downed drone in Iran, was reverse engineered by them a nice lil gift of the Iran regime. 15 mths later they launch their own cheaper model. Yet wasted time and money is gone after Julian Assange & the Bradley's of this world. When it would be far better spent recruiting them for counter cyber espionage. This is where you ringers judge morality by what effects your wallet the most not what is right!

I'm not convinced Zimmerman was a racist. He seemed more like a wannabe law enforcer too eager to find trouble.

His numerous calls to 911, for example, was out of the ordinary.

That was my impression of him anyway.
