Rand Paul won the straw poll and he identifies himself as a libertarian. The Republican party is in deep sht with the next national election less than 20 months away.

Okay Carol let's take these things one at a time.
The purpose of the Boston study was to try and find out why as a group lesbians are more prone to obesity than other groups. Robert Bock of the NIH stated;
"The study on obesity and sexual orientation aims to understand why specific populations are disproportionately affected by obesity and how best to inform prevention and treatment strategies aimed at these populations."
They weren't just studying lesbians for giggles and kicks nitwit.
Your shrimp on a treadmill example also shows how shallow your thought processes are. They weren't just watching shrimp on a treadmill for laughs twit, it was a study done by biologist Lou Burnett of the College of Charleston in South Carolina that studied environmental impacts on many economically important species of seafood. The treadmill study was a small part of the overall research and studied how the shrimp reacted to changes in its environment.
Pottery classes are only a small part of the Moroccan economic grant as is the call center portion of the grant in the Philippines teaching English to students primarily for health care and tourism fields.
All of these programs pale in cost to Medicare part D voted for by both John Boehner and budget genius Paul Ryan which cost taxpayers $32 billion in 2010 and is expected to rise to $150 billion by 2019. Let's not forget the costs of treating our veterans from two wars which are estimated to rise to $8.4 billion by 2020.
I'm still trying to get my head around your defending millions of dollars spent on studying shrimp on treadmills and obese lesbians.

You lost credibility with the rest of your post after that.

Nya, nya NYA -- I stayed up super late last night to get some good ones in, appended with my usual zingy bromide. I think I outdid myself! How about y'all? I got in the part where I was a molder of young minds again too (I mean besides my lumpy daughter's, who, by the way isn't preggers, just put on a few pounds while she's looking for a job again, after getting fired because obviously her FEMALE boss was jealous of her abilities AND the meat on her bones, since she's such a SKINNY MINNIE!). Really, I just got tired of all the school politics, and watching worse teachers than I was get tenure and then the ones sleeping with the administrators were too disgusting to endure. I know, I know, I've been maligned and libeled on here for years, having to fend off scurrilous claims that I've never so much as smelled a teaching degree, that I MIGHT have been some sort of low-level aide, or matron, or back office drudge sorting through parental complaints, verifying absence notes, etc. I think I've been successful in showing that these claims arise from envy and absolutely nothing else, and have no factual basis in reality.
So that's when I became a nurse -- ANOTHER 4 years of school and expense -- just so I could take abuse from hoity toity doctors half my age, and basically have ALL the responsibility and take all the bullcrap! That's when I decided that home typing was my forte after all -- so I went for it. I've been contributing to what I call the "Sucking Society" ever since. In a few months, I'll be sucking up MY just desserts -- and rightfully so!
Anyway, it looks like if us former CONTRIBUTORS wand OUR socialism, we're going to have to take to the streets in greater and greater numbers -- storm the Bastille, if you will, to let these public servants, OUR SERVANTS, know that our will will be done.
But, of course, it's going to get lots worse before it gets better, people. Mark my words. Is there any part of the above that the liberal marxists can seem to understand that I'm missing, or am I just not being crystal clear enough to break through the fog of entitlements? I really wish somebody would answer this question for me, because nobody on EARTH has so far.
Well, I might or might not share other ruminations on topics relating to this whole mess. It all depends on the level of anxiety I can achieve while still attending to my part-time job AND waiting for that joyous call that my daughter is with child, but please Jesus, I pray, not from the black boyfriend. Sometimes girls have to learn the hard way that a huge thing isn't everything, and that playing a guitar isn't the be-all, end-all. Personally, I'm pretty sure he's using her because, number one, she's white; and 2, she's got a secure 7-11 job and on track to be assistant manager.
Whew, that was longer than expected. May be back, and might not. Meantime, please don't be fooled. It makes you look so dumb!

The republicans met the president halfway in his "balanced approach" in January by raising taxes on the wealthy in return for his promise to make specific cuts in the budget which both sides could agree on.

He reneged on that promise, signed the sequestration act so he could blame republicans in anticipation of having a political advantage and now wants to increase taxes again with still no cuts on the table.

It's not so much hateful as exposing the status quo.

Palin just isn't your typical politician or public speaker.

If you can get past her delivery, she actually has something to say.

The reason these abuses are so rampant and take place right under our noses is because there's no way the federal government can keep track of them all.
Yet, the federal government is now going to manage the nation's health care and give even more money to entitlement programs.
It's going to have to get a lot worse before it can start geting better, I'm afraid.
School lunch programs aren't run by the federal government. Your continued covetous thoughts about the less fortunate are petty and disgusting.

before President Obama signed the Sequestration Act, I do believe it had to pass in Congress first.
H.R. 5872 would require the President to submit to Congress a detailed preview of the sequestration required by the Budget Control Act and how the required spending cuts are to be implemented. Specifically, this bill would require the president to submit a report to Congress within 30 days of enactment that includes an estimate of the sequestration percentages and amounts necessary to achieve the required reduction for each spending category.

As the CBO has stated,“the Administration's Office of Management and Budget (OMB) has sole authority to determine whether a sequestration is required and, if so, the proportional allocations of any necessary cuts.”

Just like beauty is in the eye of the beholder, hateful speech is in the ear of the listener, I suppose.

You'd have to be more specific about what Palin said that could be considered hate speech.

it was Herman Cain, on FOX, who 'heard' it from some other 'black republican'.

Nothing to do with racism.
Just smug self-righteousness, eh?

Due to their father's refusin to pay child support, and subsequently absconding to another state, my family was eligible for 265 dollars in food stamps per month for just under two years. My kids' school clothes came from thrift stores, where a smart shopper can often rejuvenate an entire school-year wardrobe (much of it 'designer') for under a hundred bucks, including the shoes. Gee, I'm sorry - I forgot I was supposed to dress them in rags, to conform to your stereotypical prejudices, simply because my situation warranted participation in a program for which MY tax dollars (and I payed self-employment rates, by the way) were also used.

You know what Carol? You can shove that smug superiority complex right back up your anal canal where it belongs.

Nice to know you begrudged my kids the food they got at school, and the meals I paid for with food stamps, you typical Christian you.

I'm still waiting for you to answer my questions why you think the present economic woes fall squarely on the House GOP:

~Because the GOP wouldn't toe the line and do Obama's bidding when he didn't meet with them for two years?
~Because Obama was in front of cameras marginalizing republicans when senate democrats hadn't come up with a budget in four years?
~Because the proposed budgets and reforms by the GOP weren't considered a starting point for compromise or even taken up for a vote in the Senate?
