what I dont understand is why the Leftwing pricks on Topix here keep blaming Bush and the truth is he was a Modern Liberal just like them but instead he considered himself a Compassinate Conservative which is a pretend Conservative or a Modern Liberal which is associated with the majority of the New Left Democrats.

Compassionate conservatism is a political philosophy that stresses using traditionally conservative techniques and concepts in order to improve the general welfare of society.

First, there's nothing compassionate about Bush spinning lies to trick our country into an unprovoked war. If it wasn't lies then it was unbelievable incompetence.
Second, conservatism today is in NO way interested in the GENERAL welfare. Why on earth would you make that claim? They don't even pretend to be interested in anyone but themselves.
Third, there are no New Left Democrats. The teabagger movement pushed the definition of right wing so far to the right everything else just appears to have moved to the left. Now even conservatives want nothing to do with these fanatic losers.

Medicare Part D fits right in with the Compassinate Conservatism G.W. Bush called it and Medicare Part D was added to the Federal Deficit and the New Left certianly is alive and well represented by Bill & Hillary Clinton, John Kerry, Nancy Pelosi, Dianne Fienstien, and others which the old left is History.

In both the U.S. and Japan, the "New Left" was associated with the Hippie movement and college campus protest movements. The American New Left in particular opposed what it saw as the prevailing authority structures in society, which it termed "The Establishment", and those who rejected this authority became known as "anti-Establishment" .

and there is nothing Liberal about this Modern Liberalism either.

Classical Liberalism vs. Modern Liberalism and Modern Conservatism

Basically, classical liberalism is based on a belief in liberty. Even today, one of the clearest statements of this philosophy is found in the Declaration of Independence. In 1776, most people believed that rights came from government. People thought they had only such rights as government elected to give them. But following British philosopher John Locke, Jefferson argued that it’s the other way around. People have rights apart from government, as part of their nature. Further, people can both form governments and dissolve them. The only legitimate purpose of government is to protect these rights.

In order to fully exploit national sentiment, there are currently various bills before the 113th Congress to strengthen gun control. President Obama is trying to make progress on this front through both signing 23 executive orders and promoting a plan focused on “universal background checks for all gun buyers, a crackdown on gun trafficking, a ban on military-style assault weapons, and a ban on ammunition magazines holding more than 10 bullets,” according to the Washington Post.
**********

President Barack Obama has asserted executive privilege in response to requests made by Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Calif.), chairman of the Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, who has embarked on a controversial investigation into the Department of Justice's Operation Fast and Furious gun-running program.

The invocation of executive privilege allows the president to defy requests and subpoenas by members of the legislative and judicial branches for information the White House deems sensitive. Obama's decision will allow him to refuse to provide certain documents pertaining to the Fast and Furious program.

The Oversight Committee has threatened to hold Attorney General Eric Holder in contempt, and Issa had scheduled a vote on the matter for Wednesday morning. A committee aide told Reuters that Issa would proceed with the contempt vote even after Obama's action. Issa later declared that the decision to assert executive privilege "falls short of any reason to delay today's proceedings."

Deputy Attorney General James M. Cole addressed Issa in a letter on Wednesday morning.

"We regret that we have arrived at this point, after the many steps we have taken to address the Committee's concerns and to accommodate the Committee's legitimate oversight interests regarding Operation Fast and Furious," he wrote. "Although we are deeply disappointed that the Committee appears intent on proceeding with a contempt vote, the Department remains willing to work with the Committee to reach a mutually satisfactory resolution of the outstanding issues."

Holder, who met with Issa Tuesday in an attempt to reach an agreement on how many and which documents related to Fast and Furious he would turn over, had formally written Obama requesting that he exercise executive privilege. A copy of that letter is below.

NaturalNews) In a report that is essentially a total indictment of members and agencies of the Obama Administration - most notably, Attorney General Eric Holder and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives - as well as the American media establishment, most of which has dedicated its time and resources to helping Barack Obama win reelection - Spanish language television network Univision has blown wide open the "Fast and Furious" scandal.
In a bombshell investigative report broadcast Sunday, one filled with scathing details and grim, grisly video including security-cam footage of actual execution-style murders and blood-soaked rooms (there's your warning, for those of you who might be a little unnerved by that kind of real-life graphic violence), the network said it discovered that in January 2010, drug cartel hit men annihilated students with guns the U.S. government allowed to flow to them across the border into Mexico.
"On January 30, 2010, a commando of at least 20 hit men parked themselves outside a birthday party of high school and college students in Villas de Salvarcar, Ciudad Juarez," said an English version of the report, posted on the ABC News website.
"Near midnight, the assassins, later identified as hired guns for the Mexican cartel La Linea, broke into a one-story house and opened fire on a gathering of nearly 60 teenagers," the report said. "Outside, lookouts gunned down a screaming neighbor and several students who had managed to escape. Fourteen young men and women were killed, and 12 more were wounded before the hit men finally fled."
It gets worse. Much worse.
Multiple 'massacres'
Citing information obtained by a Mexican army document, Univision reported that three of the high caliber weapons fired that night at the students "were linked to a gun tracing operation run by" the ATF.
The operation in question was Fast and Furious.
But this "massacre," as the network's report described it, was not the only major news item contained in its report.
"Univision News identified a total of 57 more previously unreported firearms that were bought by straw purchasers monitored by ATF during Operation Fast and Furious, and then recovered in Mexico in sites related to murders, kidnappings, and at least one other massacre," the report says.
That wasn't the only "massacre" the network uncovered, related to Fast and Furious. On September 2, 2009, 18 young men were murdered at "El Aliviane, a rehabilitation center in Ciudad Juarez," the report said.
Univision managed to find these victims through "access to the list of serial numbers of weapons used" in the botched ATF operation, as well as the "list of guns seized in Mexico," according to an English subtitle translation of the broadcast.
"After cross-referencing them both lists, it became clear that a least a hundred of them were used in crimes of all kinds," read the subtitles. "We found 57 weapons that were not mentioned in [the U.S.] Congress' investigation."
Americans didn't care - until Americans were affected
The network says it managed to track down many more victims, but acknowledged that "the death toll that this free-flow of weapons authorized by ATF had in Mexico has not been tallied."
As mentioned earlier, the broadcast was rife with grisly images, including bloodied, dead bodies lying on streets and sidewalks. In relaying this incredible story, the network showed the faces of the dead and led viewers carefully through the operation of the violent drug cartels and how they hunted down their victims with weapons the Obama Administration allowed to be bought by straw purchasers to traffic.
One photo showed pools of blood on the streets of a Mexican town following a "massacre" committed by hit men armed with Fast and Furious guns.
The broadcast made no bones about implying that Americans have no regard for the victims of violence the that Obama Administrationhttp://www.natur alnews.com/037395_Fast_and_Fur ious_scandal_gun_running.html# ixzz2LmpMVUFx
