What I am finding is that among conservatives there is too much outrage, piss, and vinegar. It makes our ideas less effective. We have become humorless, angry opponents of the President instead of happy warriors selling better ideas. We are not even selling ideas.<quoted text>
I believe several factors contribute to the GOP's current state.
First, they nominated a faux-conservative with great hair thinking he would appeal to the not-quite-Socialist of the Socialist/Democrat voting block. Dumb mistake, the conservative base of the GOP stayed home in droves.
Second, the GOP politicians are cowards. Yes, the mainstream media is an extension of the Socialist/Democrat party and to expect fair reporting of the issues is unrealistic. Nobody is going to follow up on the Solyndra, Benghazi, or Fast and Furious scandals, even though each is more significant than Watergate was. But true leaders stand on principles.
The S/D politicians stand on their "principles" even if they are corrupt and destructive: use Welfare to buy votes, push "immigration reform" to get voters. Liberals are lowlife scum, but at least they are consistent. That's why when BJ Clinton has his genitalia sucked and ejaculates in the face of a 20-year-old employee he can stand in front of the DNC 10 years later and say how much Democrats respect women and liberal idiots nod your heads and agree with him.
Lastly, I think the balance is tipping in this country to the point that MORE PEOPLE ARE GETTING CHECKS FROM THE GUBBERMINT than those paying for it. And people getting free stuff from the gubbermint are usually S/D's. That's why Lord Obama has 43 MILLION PEOPLE on food stamps and 25% of all public school kids are getting free/reduced lunches. More parasites = more Democrats.
Conservatives, frankly, have become purveyors of outrage instead of preachers for a cause. Instead of showing how increasing government harms people, how free markets help people, and how conservative policies benefit all Americans, we scream “Benghazi” and “Fast & Furious.”
We’re off key and off message. We’ve become professional victims dialed up to 10 on the outrage meter. Who the hell wants to listen to conservatives whining and moaning all the time about the outrage du jour? Seriously? Mitt Romney ran a campaign on just how bad things are, but he was rejected by a majority of Americans who felt like he really did not care about them and really had no plans to improve their lives.
Bitching about Benghazi doesn’t do that either.
and FOX just hired that guy.
so you can see how things will be changing at FOX.
