The Loyal Opposition
By: Erick Erickson
.... The President has done what he set out to do. I cannot be outraged by him doing what he set out to do. I am far more outraged by the Republicans not doing what they said they would do.
We have too many outrage pimps on both sides of the aisle whipping the respective bases into a frenzy and fury against the other side. I don’t have enough time or energy to be outraged about it all. There are things to be outraged by, but not everything, and certainly not with full energy dedicated to every perceived slight and grievance.
What I am finding is that among conservatives there is too much outrage, piss, and vinegar. It makes our ideas less effective. We have become humorless, angry opponents of the President instead of happy warriors selling better ideas. We are not even selling ideas.
Conservatives, frankly, have become purveyors of outrage instead of preachers for a cause. Instead of showing how increasing government harms people, how free markets help people, and how conservative policies benefit all Americans, we scream “Benghazi” and “Fast & Furious.”
We’re off key and off message. We’ve become professional victims dialed up to 10 on the outrage meter. Who the hell wants to listen to conservatives whining and moaning all the time about the outrage du jour? Seriously? Mitt Romney ran a campaign on just how bad things are, but he was rejected by a majority of Americans who felt like he really did not care about them and really had no plans to improve their lives.
Bitching about Benghazi doesn’t do that either.
Be mad at me if you need to. Feel free to express your moral outrage and indignity at me. But then shut up and focus on convincing people not that the President of the United States duly elected by a majority of the American people is a traitor willfully trying to destroy the country, but that our policies will allow people to make the most of their lives and not be dependent on the rising and falling fortunes of Washington, D.C.
Be happy. The anger is unbecoming of the party of Lincoln and Reagan.
And if you must be angry, don’t be angry at a President doing what he set out to do, be angry at a Republican Establishment not doing ... well ... much of anything.

You would be happier and more at home in North Korea, dear.
They love their "Dear Leader" too, just like you love O.

As President Barack Obama enters his second term, his aides have concluded he likely will fall short on one of his signature promises.
Barring some collectively cathartic Beltway experience, the Obama administration will not usher in an era of post-partisanship. The forces of gridlock continue to have the upper hand, and they will have a tangible impact on the president's tactics and ambitions.
Obama and his aides are neither fretting nor apologizing. Rather, while expressing a continued preference for politics by consensus, they are embracing the need for a more aggressive, even confrontational approach. The president signaled as much by vowing simply to not negotiate with Republicans over raising the debt ceiling. He upped the ante with the introduction of his gun policy reforms, which were more comprehensive than expected.
The message was solidified this past week with the announcement that Obama for America -- the organization that lifted the president to two election victories -- would be converted to a non-profit entity for the express purpose of pushing the White House's agenda in Obama's second term. One senior administration official was practically giddy about the prospect of using the organization's massive email list for policy purposes, admitting the campaign group had failed to do so effectively during the president's first term.
The White House has made similar boasts before, so skeptics have their reasons. But this time, a dysfunctional Washington and a weakened but more dogmatic Republican Party make a combative strategy the best option.
"Obviously, we hoped for something better," conceded David Axelrod, Obama's longtime adviser, in an interview.“And to the extent that the president can do more, he will. But this is largely a function of a decision on the Republican Party to try and thwart him at every turn as a political strategy."

OK, I thought about it for a minute...you're nuts!
Keep up the crazy talk and encourage your GOP reps to do the same.
Then watch as Dems take over the House in 2014.
Your political Party couldn't get anymore unpopular.

It's OK lily, your free handouts are safe for another 4 years.

Carol harnessing her inner white supremacist origins. Repeating her "get whitey" story.

Think that was Rev. Wright's message. Obama's spiritual mentor.
#843628 Jan 21, 2013
He won by a little more than 3 million votes in a country of over 300 million.
Think it'd be safe to say half of those 3 million didn't vote for Romney because he is a Mormon. The other half didn't vote for him because they either bought all the lies or thought he'd fix the economy and they'd have to get a job.
Of course, I'm being facetious...sort of.

Try thinking about it for one more minute.
What do Obama and Rev. Wright have in common?
#843635 Jan 21, 2013
Right-wing plan to bring back failed Rev. Wright strategy assumes America is as hateful as Joe Ricketts & co.

If none of you right wingers call this idiot out for his alteration of "inauguration" then the assertion that right = racist is valid.

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Was A Republican
During the civil rights era of the 1960's, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. fought to stop Democrats from denying civil rights to blacks. It should come as no surprise that Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was a Republican as has been affirmed by his niece, Dr. Alveda C. King.
Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. would not have joined the Democratic Party, the party of the Ku Klux Klan and segregation.
Dr. King fought against Democrat Public Safety Commissioner Eugene "Bull" Connor in Birmingham who let loose vicious dogs and turned skin-burning fire hoses on black civil rights demonstrators.
Democrat Georgia Governor Lester Maddox famously brandished ax handles to prevent blacks from patronizing his restaurant. Democrat Alabama Governor George Wallace blocked the entrance of two black students at the University of Alabama in 1963 and thundered, "Segregation now, segregation tomorrow, segregation forever”. All of these racist Democrats remained Democrats until the day they died. In fact, racist Democrats declared that they would rather vote for a “yellow dog” than a Republican because the Republican Party was known as the party for blacks.
WHY ARE MOST BLACK PEOPLE DEMOCRATS???
