I proposed several explanations. Callousness towards our own species and the unborn was just one of them.
Of course, we could just be reaping what we have sown not only because of this but the other explanations.
What do you think is causing such senseless violence among our young people?
I've been asking the same question and its not limited to young people. Don't think our perpetual state of war might have anything to do with it do ya?

I agree with you all drug prohibition should be ended, but for entirely different reasons (ie I am not a drug user). Legislating morality is an impossible task, and the legalization and taxation of users would possibly allow for actual worthwhile humans to avoid the rampant Gvt taxation/theft we see today....
That's the same reason, I don't use drugs either and couldn't even if they were legalized.

Assumes facts not in evidence, particularly with the accepted practice of "shelter in place."

If school personnel were instructed to "run like hell" for the exits instead of hiding in closets, then you might have a point.

Schools need to rethink the entire "lockdown" concept.

It is the ultimate hypocrisy that ardent leftists are absolutely willing and eager to kill innocent humans via abortion (and I am decidedly NOT pro-life), yet absolutely ABHOR the thought of imposing capital punishment on heinous killers (including mass shooters). True. This nutjob actually wasted a lot of time and ammunition by shooting each victim numerous times. One shotgun blast at kids in a closet would have been more efficient.

This was a really sick individual who would have killed regardless of the law.

Of course, all this is just another assumption.

As a side note, the father of the soldier who was subjected to this groups' jeers while burying his son took it to court. He lost and was stuck with $13,000 worth of legal fees to boot. O'Reilly paid the legal fees out of his own pocket.

It's time we all looked in the mirror and asked ourselves what happened to the next generation and why.
It's a problem stemming from our society. We're doing something wrong. We're numbing and desensitizing our children. And no one is doing anything to change it.
Each of us can only be responsible for our own children.

I may disagree completely with the way others raise their children, and I most certainly do, but it's none of my business.

If the Connecticut shooter had been captured alive, folks like lily would still be opposed to capital punishment. They might even give him mental illness or juvenile points, or blame his mother and let him off easy.

Witness the fact that the Fort Hood mass murderer is still abusing the justice system, instead of facing swift justice.

Hey pal, you voted for big government, not me. So what do you suggest, legalize and regulate, a legal free for all, legalize and tax? What's the difference? Colorado is already feeling the effects of legal pot. We have to quit treating illegal guns and illicit drug use as illnesses or minor offenses. Who, in this country, is afraid of being disciplined? I'll tell you, NO ONE. From adolescence to the grave, law breakers have little or nothing to fear. Parents can't discipline and the system won't. Until that changes, it won't matter whether we're Democrat, Republican, or Libertarian.

We sold him the chemical weapons he used against his own people. That's why Bush didn't like to talk about that. Either father Bush or son Bush.
We invaded a soverign nation with the flimsiest of excuses. We had no murtual defense treaty with Kuwait. There was no reason to invade Iraq. It made the USA international war criminals. To this day, there are nations that will arrest Bush or Cheney if they set foot in their borders.
We lost the war - badly.
there were no WMD's, in spite of your ignorant claims, which even Bush admitted to.
Go back to your TIC talk. You obviously know nothing about any of it, you methhead.
SO...let's SIMPLIFY it then.

There either WERE WMD's or there were not.

Look up the word SOVEREIGN-no wait I'll post it--

adjective
5.
belonging to or characteristic of a sovereign or sovereignty; royal.
6.
having supreme rank, power, or authority.
7.
supreme; preeminent; indisputable: a sovereign right.
8.
greatest in degree; utmost or extreme.
9.
being above all others in character, importance, excellence, etc

NOW get another CLUE-

August 2nd 1990

At about 2 a.m. local time, Iraqi forces invade Kuwait, Iraq's tiny, oil-rich neighbor. Kuwait's defense forces were rapidly overwhelmed, and those that were not destroyed retreated to Saudi Arabia. The emir of Kuwait, his family, and other government leaders fled to Saudi Arabia, and within hours Kuwait City had been captured and the Iraqis had established a provincial government. By annexing Kuwait, Iraq gained control of 20 percent of the world's oil reserves and, for the first time, a substantial coastline on the Persian Gulf. The same day, the United Nations Security Council unanimously denounced the invasion and demanded Iraq's immediate withdrawal from Kuwait. On August 6, the Security Council imposed a worldwide ban on trade with Iraq.

THEN- the UN SANCTIONED-Operation Desert Storm -

Thus began a two-phase operation to counter the Iraqi moves. The first phase was Operation Desert Shield, designed to shield Gulf states. The second was Operation Desert Storm, the United Nations–sanctioned action to drive Iraq from Kuwait.

Military actions for Desert Shield proceeded rapidly. By 7 August, elements of the Eighty-second Airborne Division and U.S. Air Force fighter planes were en route to the Gulf. Britain, France, Egypt, and Syria launched parallel actions, while other nations sent small forces to the area.
----------
If you actually READ some REAL HISTORY, you would then realize-Saddam had ALSO prior-STOLEN oil from Kuwait, and refused to pay/give it back, because his own nation of Iraq was INSOVEREIGN, UNable to pay Kuawait back for the oil, due to his OWN MISHANDLINGS in his dictatorship...which is why he chose instead, being the rogue, insane Dictator that he was--to INVADE Kuwait.

Had Saddam NOT broke his OWN nation, then invaded Kuwait because of it-WE, and OTHER nations would've never had to go there to START with!!

HOW Flipping IGNORANT can ones like you be??????????

I doubt there will ever be conclusive evidence one way or the other, but I also find it interesting that the author of the Huff story was written by the MOTHER of an Asperbergers child, while the kos link you posed is written by someone actually afflicted with the syndrome. I certainly lean towards the veracity of the Mother's assessment of the serious volatility of the condition....
It's important not to label all children or adults with Asbergers or autism as violent, or potential killers. Parents of these children face difficult challenges, I would guess that Lanza had some sort of psychotic breakdown, perhaps schizophrenic. We may never know what happened, the father and brother are cooperating and computer records have been subpoenaed.
Nevertheless, no one needs an assault weapon
