Thanksgiving Day is a national holiday celebrated primarily in the United States and Canada but also several other places around the world.<quoted text>Thanksgiving is nothing more than a holiday created by giant corporations to boost their profits. Why else would anybody create a holiday that celebrated the slaughter of millions of animals while destroying people's health and overwhelming the nation's already stressed transportation system. Fortunately no other nation celebrates it.
Prayers of thanks and special thanksgiving ceremonies are common among almost all religions after harvests and at other times.
But since it's an American tradition, it's no wonder you want to get rid of that too.
