My Word: Ban driving while texting
#1 Apr 10, 2009
Only when a congressman's son or daughter is killed by someone who was texting will the laws be changed.
Big Telecom paid lobbyists to make sure that if someone caused an accident while talking on the cell phone it would be documented as "wreckless driving" with no mention of cell phone use. Why? They wanted to prevent people from taking statistics. Why? Because Big Telecom knows that talking/texting while driving is deadly, which would lead to restricted use, which would = falling profits.

It is banned in many states or soon will be. Unfortunately, Florida is not one of them yet.
