I notice on the FHP accidents reports for the State, that Central Florida has more Hit & Runs than any other part of the state. What give with that?

they should put him on the side of the road and hit him at 70mph and leave him laying there!

Another stellar reporting job by the Sentinel. The FHP member started out as SERGEANT Dan WILLIX, then became TROOPER Dan WILCOX. One of these days, they'll get something right.

Regardless of what his real rank and name are, I wish him a speedy recovery.

Your a dumb-a-s-s. If your not speeding, then you won't get a speeding ticket. Now will you?

Don't break the law and you won't have to worry about. Jackass.

Hey people I hate getting a ticket as much as the next guy but PLEASE pull off the road as much as possible. When I get pulled over I try to get in a parking lot or at least off to the side as much as possible so the trooper or officer doesn’t get hit. We all sometimes wish they would get ploughed over but seriously we need to have their safety in mind when this little unpleasantly happens to us. I know I would feel horrible if I could have saved someone from serious injury or death and did not simply because I was angry.

Let’s protect these guys because someday they may be there to protect us.

It's the price we pay for civilization.

I find them to be pretty fair in whom they pull over. They usually have a pretty darn good reason to pull someone over.

I have gotten my fair share of inconvenient truth summons and I can say that most of the time I deserved it. I had a couple of stupid tickets, 64/55 and 70/55 when no one was on the road, but overall I pretty much deserved what I got. Most of the time I see them dealing with some pretty bad drivers and situations.

If you get a silly ticket take it to court, take the class and have the satisfaction of hauling the officer to court to explain his or her 64/55 ticket to the judge. It works for me.

And of course he may be an illegal in a stolen vehicle with a suspended or nvdl. But with the courts plugged and hearing officers no longer budgeted for. The cretin will get virtually no punishment.

It's probably more than in most of the U.S.A. I've driven around the country and I still can't believe the drivers in Central Floriduh but what's worse is that the police and sheriff's departments do next to nothing about it.

By the way, have you noticed that people don't like to take responsibility for their actions? You see people on the news stopped by police "Oh, I didn't run the red light." or "It's not my fault. The light turned quicker than normal."

I say, ticket every speeder, tailgater and lane changer and fine them with a huge fine. Those who get a couple of tickets too close together should lose their driving privileges for awhile. It's time we crack down on this nonsense and take the idiots off of the road. As far as DUI's, I say hangem high on the courthouse square.

Ramirez is probably an illegal alien without a driver's license. Haven't you heard? They're the new Florida citizen.

Good for the citizens that got involved to help make this arrest happen!! Now if the driver is seriously punished and the trooper heals without complications the world will be a better place.
