The local chapter is already looking into what may be an unjustified shoot. If it is deemed a bad shoot, we will vigorously call for legal action and/or criminal charges to be filed. Shooting dogs is not right. Dogs are our friend.
Oh I do indeed hope the retards at PETA persue legal action in this matter!

Go ahead you fool. It will just make it easier for us to overturn the breed-ban legislation that exists in the state of Florida. Either that, or it will inspire local county commissions to enact ordinances requiring $5 million worth of liability insurance and a $5000 yearly fee for the ownership of one of these dogs.

Frankly, a bullet between the eyes is a lot cheaper, don't you think?

As a former cop in the craphole that is Oakland Park, I can tell you that the city is full of Pit Bulls, and it is the s.c.umbag owners who train these dogs to kill. People don't hang inner tubes from their trees for decoration- they teach the dog to jump up and bite them, hang, and not let go until instructed. The owners should be shot, not the dogs.

Isn't there a ban already in place against pitbulls in Miami-Dade? I believe there is, so why doesn't Broward have the guts to ban them here!!!??? Too dangerous and deadly, in my opinion!

I live in this area and had a pitbull
kill my cat in my back yard. I wonder
if it was the same pit bull. I don't
remember the owners name now. I just
wanted to put it behind me. I feel for this guy and if I had a gun I'm
afraid I may have done the same thing.
I threw an object at the dog but of
course that did nothing by then it was
to late. I love animals to its very
sad. I did report it to.

Take her diving for lobster. Two go down, one comes up. No blood. No powder burns.

Trust me, I live with a pit bull. But Michelle Obama bit her and gave her rabies. Not my problem anymore.

I was unfamiliar with what PETA was, and when I asked someone told me the letters stood for "People Eating Tasty Animals".
That makes sense with beef and chicken, but people don't eat pit bulls, do they?

He did the right thing. You have to protect your own. If he didn't shoot the pit bull, he would have killed his pet.

I don't trust those pit bulls. I have a few friends that raised them from small puppies and one day they just turned and ended up killing another pet in the family.

It's very simple really - the law should be that if you live in an urban area, if your dog gets out without a leash, you lose your dog. If the dog bites someone, you go to jail.
I think they should take it a step further and require Muzzles for all dogs that are outside of the house.. leash or no leash if the dog is muzzled and still off the leash he will do a lot less harm..maybe paw me to death

First of all, Florida has a law on its books that no city/county can add any new breed-specific legislation. So, Broward won't be like Miami-Dade any time soon.

Secondly, how did this guy know it was a pack of pit bulls that killed his cat while he was on vacation. Did someone stand and watch then tell him when he got home?

Pit Bulls should be just like guns. Take a class, get a permit and THEN you can own one. If you're going to own one then you need to take responsibility for the animal. You're dog getting loose is not taking responsibility.
Wrong. A gun cannot kill someone by itself. A pit bull can.

Ban the breed.

Actually the state banned the banning of specific breeds but Miami got the ban in effect before the law went into effect.

I love dogs, but I would have done the same thing if it attacked my dog. I've been around adult pits that are adorable. Owners definately should be held responsible.

HELLO out there- we need broward county officials to step up and make Pit Bulls Ilegal to Own. WHY is NO ONE doing anything !!!!!!!!!! This is unbelievable- People and animals are getting seriously injured and killed!!!! We need to stop it now. If a breed kills make them illegal-It is very plain and simple-screw all pit bull lovers-Why don't we all go get cute tiger cubs and then keep them till they are older and leave them in the back yard and just let whatever happens happen - you know by accident-etc etc- he was such a nice tiger cub when he was young- I guess we are all going to have to wait till someone Smart does something -because as of right now we being ignored for pitts to be illegals by stupid officials-who care nothing but themselves and not for the common good of all. Let me go out and get a rattlesnake, a pit pull, an adult tiger, a rhinosaurus and just keep in my back yard- cause they are so cute and then when they hurt someone I won't care-doesn't sound too good -does it?-but that is the reality of what is going on and still no one is doing anything about it....just unbelievable. Not until an officials relative or someone they know's face gets ripped off by a pit bull will they freakin' get off their lazy butts and really make a difference....it's much easier to look the other way and do nothing...isn't it?
