I know Suzanne Chanin-Herr and she is a selfish person. She would leave you to die or starve if it meant she would gain anything. She hurt me deeply where I'm barely surviving. I cannot say how because it would give her glee. I did nothing wrong; she was just brown-nosing and I was pay the cost. She would lie or go with the flow to cover her backside at a cost to others. "God don't like Ugly." Suzanne has an ugly soul. "Vengeance is mine sayeth the Lord." Thank you God!

Your comments just prove you know nothing about Suzanne Chanin-Herr and you are completely ignorant. She is one of the most caring, awesome people in this world and would give her last penny to someone worthy. Apparently, you weren't worthy!

The fact of the matter is that OCSO deputies and personnel “steal” thousands of tax payer’s dollars each year through gas, epass, office supplies, equipment, etc. and yet we are so concerned about $2800 worth of "donations"? They should hold EVERY employee to the same standards!

Suzanne is a beautiful person who would… in fact HAS given selflessly to help others! I know her well and she would never maliciously hurt someone or attack there character. To “Anonymous”: with such strong and completely absurd opinions I am not surprised you cowardly withheld your name! Obviously you didn’t deserve Suzanne’s kindest. And how dare you bring the Lords name into your dirty destructive comments. Here is a verse for you…“Let those without sin throw the first stone, jackass”….. Well I added the jackass!

The sheriff's office does not condone this type of behavior, spokesman Capt. Angelo Nieves said.

"It's an extreme disappointment when an employee is given opportunity to excel and is given a position of trust and they use that position for self benefit," Nieves said. "The Orange County Sheriff's Office is not going to tolerate a lapse of integrity in any capacity. The public places a lot of trust in Orange County Sheriff's Office and will continue to maintain that trust."

OH REALLY, PLEASE READ THE BELOW STORY:

Former Orange County Sheriff Kevin Beary admitted he violated the state's Standards of Conduct for Public Officers by joining a nonprofit venture with several aides to market a Homeland Security survey created with public funds, according to records released Friday by the Florida Commission on Ethics.

In a pending settlement signed Monday by his lawyer, Beary admitted his work for National Domestic Preparedness Coalition Inc. created "a conflict between his private interests and the performance of his public duties or that would impede the full and faithful discharge of his public duties."

The venture damaged Beary's credibility with members of his command staff as well as deputies, who learned in 2005 he accepted $43,000 for "off-duty work" despite promising he wouldn't pay himself from the business.

The agreement recommends Beary be censured and an officially reprimanded, fined $10,000 and required to pay the state an additional $10,000 — the amount of a tax benefit he received after publicly announcing he was returning the $43,000 paid him by the nonprofit. Beary also promised not to work for the venture for three years.

I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW HOW MUCH MONEY THE OCSO & FLA SHERIFF'S ASSOCIATION INSURANCE COMPANIES PAID FOR FORMER SHERIFF BEARY'S ATTORNEYS FEES AS HE DENIED AND FOUGHT THESE CHARGES OVER THE PAST 4 YEARS. THAT WOULD BE AN INTERESTING STORY.

I must have it wrong- for years I thought those who dedicated their lives to enforcing our laws should sleep well at night........certainly sleeping much better those convicted of criminal wrongdoing and incarcerated.

I suspect that the charges against white collar criminals only represent a fraction of damage they have inflicted on an individual, business or organization. Ask any business owner that has been a victim of such a crime. Keep in mind that a charge of grand theft is based on evidence accumulated, not "here say".

To keep things in perspective- this is not a victimless crime.....if you would climb out of your cave every once in a while and open your eyes, you just might see who is not sleeping at night.

C’mon now! Typical response to hide behind the “dedicated to enforcing laws” crap. We all know there are a very select few deputies that actually “serve and protect”…. The rest sit in their cozy office sucking up taxpayers money, doing very little between their 2 hour lunches and stroking their ego. This is an absurdly obvious personal vendetta and has little to do with the accused "crime". She probably turned him down!

I've known Suzanne for over 30 years and I can tell you that her dedication to the Safety Village bordered on obsessive. She worked for Orange County as a volunteer for the first year or so and than served the Safety Village I'm sure better than her accuser ever did. Her accuser and his partner did have a personal agenda against her. It's a damn shame because Orange County lost a great employee. She didn't steal any merchandise, but she did protect it to a fault.

Seriously?
There are so many more serious issues in this town than being accused of stealiing $2,800.00.
How bout if we hear Suzanne's side of the story before judging her? Suzanne is by far the most trustworthy, moral person I've ever know. She does everything by the book. If she needs to deviate from "the book" she's got a good reason for it AND she'd definetly tell you why she changed the plan. She's dedicated herself to the Children's Safety Village and has worked long and hard to support their mission. Their mission became Suz's mission. She is a selfless individual. She has strong ethical values and has been a role model for so many thhru her work at the Children's Safety Village. Before the next person makes a nasty comment on this blog, why not think about suzanne and her family. Surely this isn't an easy time for them.
