I haven't tasted any chocolate chip cookie that compares to homemade. The only one that I thought came close was Pepperidge Farm Chocolate Chip with walnuts. Really good, but unfortunately a lot of calories. I only eat CC cookies on Christmas, but I still prefer home baked. Next Xmas, I'd like to try baking them without butter because of the cholesterol. Also, I never use hydrogenated shortening like Crisco, either. There are healthier alternatives to baking, of course as far as calories are concerned, you can't do much about that. Moderation in everything.

Just eat the chocolate chip out of the bag. No white flour. No eggs, No brown sugar. Now white sugar. No butter or shortening. lol

Some replace the oil in baked goods with applesauce, but it gives it a weird texture. I would suggest getting one of those small ice cream scoops and make smaller versions and then limit portion size. Then, when you eat something like that, be sure to clear your palate or you will keep wanting more.
I don't use crisco either. If you want to be healthier, delete white flour too or at least use some oatmeal or other grain. I would make more of a granola bar and add things that are good for you!
