for all u motorcycle naysayers out there. i have been riding a motorcycle for 30 years in south florida, and, sure it's a little tough. However, if the basic rules of riding a motorcycle are followed, not taking green lights for granted, and watching everything around you, your chances of success are much higher. I love to ride here, its very challenging and fun.

Sorry, I ride. All the time. On 595, 95, Federal Highway, etc. If you're doing 100 mph on Federal Highway, you are begging for a funeral. And I wonder if this kid even had the mandated endorsement... It's sad, but he asked for it.
HE was NOT doing 100 mph..we have the report.he was already in the intersection when she made her turn. Before any of you should post a thing on this blog about my son,,,get your facts straight. He did have on his helmet and he DID have all the proper endorsements. Your spectulations are incorrect and hurtful to our family abd Colby's memory.

Joy. I asked a question. There is no need to curse me out. Why am I a callous jerk (your words) for asking a simple question?

13 years ago, I witnessed an old man from NJ make a u-turn on Okeechobee Blvd in WPB, and killed a motorcyclist. Deja-vu. At 76, they should be thoroughly checked annually for reflexes, judgement, and vision. Its irresponsible of our 'lawmakers' to pander to the old crowd and not make this sensible requirement law NOW!
The motorcyclist should have been watching what he was doing.

I heard the noise of the bike first then the sirens. The bike was running flat out top end. She was making a legal U-turn but his speed was well over a 100MPH according to the sounds of the bike and other wittness at the scene. Anyone driver night may have not been able to see how quickly he had to come up on the car. He had a helmet but at that speed there was NO chance. The back end of the car was crushed in and the bumpers were totally off and in two pieces. His helmet was under the back end of the car.
It was sad to see the entire scene. If he had been going a normal speed, perhaps his reaction time would have allowed him to adjust, correct or take another manuver that could have saved him. He took a chance at that speed and lost. Check public record. Not his first issue on a bike or with the law. Sad for everyone.

he was going the speed limit i would no ive talked to the police time and time again

Clearly this was the result of a woman driver. They are the worst of the worst and do not belong behind the wheel. Clearly, there are some things a woman should do and should not do. The woman belongs in the home. The woman needs to serve her man, PERIOD.
