3 cops in Sunrise (thank God all recovered) and this guy. Who in the world thinks it's a good idea to ride a motorcycle in Florida?

Suzuki vs buick, any takers? If for money reasons you have no choice but to ride a bike thats one thing, to just be an idiot on two wheels in a different story.

I'm willing to bet the motorcyclist was NOT wearing a helmet.

I'm thinking that at age 76, Barbara Levy, doesn't see as well as others. especially at night. Sad when this happens.

I'm going to put my money on a combination of factors. Old biddy not looking where she's going and young guy most likely hauling a_s_s down Federal.

He was wearing a helmet from what I have heard from my other friends and I agree with A Firemans Sis about keeping things to your self

13 years ago, I witnessed an old man from NJ make a u-turn on Okeechobee Blvd in WPB, and killed a motorcyclist. Deja-vu. At 76, they should be thoroughly checked annually for reflexes, judgement, and vision. Its irresponsible of our 'lawmakers' to pander to the old crowd and not make this sensible requirement law NOW!

Itís a great idea! I love to ride here because I get to wear jeans and t-shirt most the year. When you look as good as me, thatís a huge bonus!
I was involved in a hit and run but Iím still riding (Drives my friends and family a little nuts)!
Keep your eyes open people!
Sad for the familyís loss of such a young member.

The way scott travis tells the story it must have been the kids fault, not the old skanky biddie making a u-turn if front of the kid.

I'm glad the tribune is bankrupt their are really a bunch of partisian republican hacks who've controlled cook county politics for decades.

I heard the noise of the bike first then the sirens. The bike was running flat out top end. She was making a legal U-turn but his speed was well over a 100MPH according to the sounds of the bike and other wittness at the scene. Anyone driver night may have not been able to see how quickly he had to come up on the car. He had a helmet but at that speed there was NO chance. The back end of the car was crushed in and the bumpers were totally off and in two pieces. His helmet was under the back end of the car.
It was sad to see the entire scene. If he had been going a normal speed, perhaps his reaction time would have allowed him to adjust, correct or take another manuver that could have saved him. He took a chance at that speed and lost. Check public record. Not his first issue on a bike or with the law. Sad for everyone.

Rest assured that if he was not wearing a helmet, the Sun-Sent would have definitely mentioned it.
They only mention if the are NOT wearing a helmet.

99.99999% of crotch rocket jockeys DO wear helmets.

This lady killed this kid and the soon-to-be-bankrupt Sun Sent somehow fails to mention that.

It's called FAILURE TO YIELD Scott Travis.

I am a certified Motorcycle Safety Instructor and I can tell you that 99.9% of all motorcycle fatalities occur when a car or truck violated their right of way.

The way the article reads, you would think the kid ran into her. He may well have hit her, but only after she put that Buick in his path, effectively violating his right of way.

Acually he was wearing a helmet but when he hit the car it flew off and he died immeadiatly from the force exerted.
