This information while official, has since been revised and updated by other sources that contradict what's been reported here. Sadly the risk of Byetta causing thyroid and pancreatic cancer is too high and too real for some plaintiffs claiming that the diabetes drug was responsible and that the manufacturer did not adequately warn patients of the inherent dangers.

Later studies contradict this research's findings. Other studies enforce or confirm the link that Byetta has to causing an increased risk of pancreatic cancer and even thyroid cancer. Read more about Byetta's side effects on this site

It's good to know that there no pancreatitis risk seen in these products. But aside from Byetta, Januvia, other diabetes medicines such as Victoza are also linked to pancreatitis. There are also reports that shows this medicines posses serious health risks, including thyroid cancer in diabetes patients. See this page for more info:

Victoza is what Paula Deen is on. She is in enough hot water. She does not need any more health issues.

This news article was published three years ago. Recent studies have suggested that Januvia and Byetta may be linked to an increased risk of pancreatitis and pancreatic cancer when compared to other available diabetes treatments. Moreover, the FDA said it found inflammation and evidence of pre-cancerous cell changes in pancreatic tissue samples taken from patients taking the drugs. I came across this site which has extensive articles about problems linked to Januvia.
