Are you talking about the India that had the "stampede" over the weekend because a huge throng of worshipers trampled each other to get to some idol?
Maybe 4th world. I think I'll stay here.

gasoline is not the only product of OIL. OIL is consumed in the manufacturing process the construction process and many other industries. same for india. while much of the populations rely on public transportation - more and more are reaching a level of income where they can own their own cars and pay for gas... and there are a billion chinese and a billion indians... there are 300 million US consumers. most manufacuturing comes from china, you get the picture
You paint a picture that suggests that China should be giving economic aid instead of being a recepient. Yet China's exports (in US dollars) only slightly exceed their imports (US dollars) and India in running a trade deficit. Both countries are getting economic aid.

I'm curious, how much (in dollars) is a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline in China (on average)? How can the Chinese pay for it? How can demand be so high in China?
China subsidizes gasoline. It's about $2.50 per gallon at the pump.

They are raising that to just over $3/gallon, apparently.

This is being blown way out of proportion, honestly. I think it is a wonderful idea. I don't see it as discrimination. I see is as a reward and incentive. I see it as a way to save a little space when building a parking lot. This is America by the way, companies are allowed to have goals and mission statements. If a company wants to encourage its customers to comply with their same mission then that is awesome. Don't bash a company for trying to do good. Try to be a little more optimistic.

I see these little clown cars around Orlando, why don't I ever see fat people driving them?
