If the hybrid parking spots aren't being used enough, or correctly, they shouldn't be there.

I drive a hybrid because I'm trying to do my part for the planet. The last place in the world I would want to park my hybrid with my Animal Friend license plate is at a dog track. Anyway, I too always park far away when I shop anyway to avoid the door dings.

The headline is backwards. It should read "Hybrid-only Parking Spaces Show Little Respect for Average Drivers."

I don't know how having hybrid parking spots makes a building more green, it just seems a little unnecessary. If someone is really that upset about it, they could start a petition and present it to the place of business showing their displeasure. If there are enough people maybe they will change their policy.

Who the heck came up with this crap?? Get those people out of office NOW, before they waste more tax dollars and enact more idiotic legislation. Most of those Hybrids are manufactured in other countries anyway. Why are we wasting our tax dollars giving rebates and preferential parking to those who choose to put American workers out of work by buying foreign products?? What kind of warped sensibilities do these people have anyhow?? Vote those Idiots Out Now. See what happens, when you don't pay attention to who is getting into office?

This would make a good sequel to the South Park episode about Hybrids and their owners...

Exxon Mobil made nearly $1,500 per second!

Exxon Mobil once again reported the largest quarterly profit in U.S. history Thursday, posting net income of $11.68 billion on revenue of $138 billion in the second quarter. That profit works out to $1,485.55 a second. That barely beat the previous corporate record of $11.66 billion, also set by Exxon in the fourth quarter of 2007.

Thank you Mr. George W. Bush!
Thanks a lot!!!

This is stupid. Why should they allow to park closer if they have a hybrid? Keep the things they are now, regular, police, and handicap spaces.
It would make more sense if special spaces are reserved for HEMORRHOIDS-Only parking. There is a real need....

Why don't we have "Obama Supporters Only" parking spaces ????

Ummm, no hybrid-only spaces, thanks.

If they want to be green, they need to put special gas (and diesel) guzzlers parking near the parking lot exits, which will also allow those people to walk further, instead of driving for 10 minutes to find a place to park 15 feet from the door.

If anything, the Hybrids should have to park in the furthest spots on the edge of the parking lot, leaving the "gas guzzlers" free to park close and save gas instead of driving around looking for an empty space.

People are so lazy. No one wants to walk an extra 200 feet. (the typical parking space is 10' wide)

Reserved spaces for anything other than handicap access are a crock of s***. That includes spaces for pregnant women and people with kids. If it's not legally enforceable, I'm parking there.

Stupidity is rampant.

Instead of picking on the Hybrid owners (no, I don't have one), look to the business owners who want to make themselves look good while doing nothing. Are any of the top officials driving hybrids or car pooling, or not flying private jets? I don't think so. This is just another "Gee, look at me support the environment" while doing nada. Give me a break.

Hey Moron, it is a shame that your government education couldn't teach you about profit margins. See, if they did, and you could do simple math, you would see that Exxon made less than 10% profit on their revenues. That is well below average and far below many industries like pharmaceuticals.

Another ploy by lamed brained bureaucrats to collect money.

They know there will be violators of the hybrid parking ordinance. It's easy money for them, much easier than dealing with bank robbers and creeps who hold up convenience stores.

I like the guy's idea about bringing his horse. I would make sure it sh..i...tttt on their precious hybrid- only parking sign.
