As the Magic enter their new arena in 2010, they will have 4 guys (Lewis $20.5, Howard 16.5, Pietrus 5.3 and Nelson 6.7) under guaranteed contracts equaling $50 mill. With the NBA's luxury tax at around $70 mill., the Magic will have to find 9 additional players who will combine to make $20 mill. total.

It's going to be fun to watch the Magic G.M. try to make that happen?

Thankyou Hedo. Now go away. You turn the ball over more than you score, your defense is lazy and weak, and you think you never foul anyone. Basicaly, you are a screw-up and like Darko
you will be a MAJOR bust for whomever you sgn with. YOu and that so-called agent of yours can go drink that koolaid somewhere else. See-ya!

Otis

You did not give Darko the money he wanted and you were correct in not over-paying that dude and he proved to be a huge bust, now you have the same senerio with Turkalou. Do not give this guy anything more than the mid-level at best. I say let him walk. He will prove to be the bust he is, I promise. We can't afford another bonehead move like the Ariza for Cook deal.

Ya know, if the Magic were smart they would trade Rashard and give me 10 million a year. Oh wait. If Rashard makes max money, I want max money. Oh. No one will pay me max money? Why did Otis pay Rashard max money? Did Rashard even play in the Finals?

The waay I see it I'm the one that brings in the big bucks for this outfit. I should be getting the 10 year contract at no less than $10million a year.
Get my new contract ready ASAP, Fools!

During the regular season, Touko -- Trukog -- Hedo meant more to the Magic than Lewis did. But that's like saying a basket of crap is worth more than a bucket of spit.

Lewis finally came into his own in the last twenty games of the season, but Hedo stayed rocky. Adios, Turk.

1) Hedo is good, but not great; Lazy on defense and a half-asleep attitude

2) Jameer was good but now has a mouth-piece hanging out of mouth attitude and has become a lazy joke also

3) Why is it that with such a fiery coach giving so much effort, the players have taken on this I don't give a -- attitude; Jameer needs to go. Mark my words. He is done

People talk s**t about hedo all the time but it's not fair!! The guy just want the right value of the work he's doing!! what about rashad who makes 20 millions/year and score less, assist less, rebound less, and TO more than hedo!!! people forget that hedo makes has made more assists than both PG combined in this play-offs and lead the team in scoring in the finals. If you think that hedo is just a 3 point shooter so let him go & make JJ play instead!

get rid of nelson is my only comment. gorat could stay, turk could stay, alston and johnson would stay, and the magic would be better without him. he cost them the finals and everyone knows it except the magic and you sports writers.

I see a BIG Push by the Pistons for Turk. Man that would be fun to watch next year, huh.
I predict that if Otis signs Turk that he will be hurt the large majority of next year.

You guys critisizing Turkoglu harshly know nothing about "total" basketball, if you cant see how valuable Hedo is to Orlando Magic organisation (beyond stats) then keep writing on such craps. Yes he does turn the ball over many times, he is not very strong in the defense when unconcentrated. But he does everthing on the floor at the same time and such mistakes are definitely normal. His basketball vision is matchless, how he runs the offense, he's a pick&roll master and always! find the best open player. Magic could not run one lousy offence in his absence even Nelson was back in the series against Lakers. To reiterate it's the vision that counts, and every major basketball authority including the legends such as Magic J, MJ, Barkley, Pippen so forth applaud Hedo's unique gift as a point forward. Magic will be better off if he keeps in Orlando and plays as Pt Fwd, addition of a decent Power forward with size and shooting skills (by trading battie, alston, reddick + luxury tax, yet impossible) would definitely make Magic again the favorite contender in the finals next year.

That's not entirely correct. Rashard the same numbers that Turk has, except for assists that is (well Turk has the ball in his hands most of the time) and Rashard is a more reliable threat than Turk. But I do think that Lewis is grossly overpaid (everyone knows this) and in the long run, this contract will hurt the magic, well it is starting already.

To resume, if Turk is asking for a contract starting much north of $10 million, let him walk, less than 10, it is doable. The best comparison I can give for a player affecting the game the way Turk do with his playmaking is Spurs 6th man Manu Ginobili. Obviously not in the same way, but the guy brings so much intangibles to the game, as Turk has with his size, craftiness and playmaking. And the contract he has is in the same neighborhood has what Turk is seeking, slighlty less.

Personally, I would like for the Magic to find a way to resign Turk. If not, I hope he gives us the opportunity to do a sign-n-trade for a legitimate PF with another team.

In regards to Gortat, Fox Sports is reporting that he is going to get anywhere between 4 to 5.5 million. I highly doubt the Magic will match that. He has played well, but he is a back-up on our squad and we already have Tony Batie making over $5 mil backing up the 4 and 5 spots.

Seeing Hidayet start a childish bravado act with Ariza and go totally streetball(game 5)I dont think he has the maturity, composure, tact that a key, leader type player should have.I believe it is time for Hidayet to leave for Europe (Greece or Spain)where the play aint all too physical.Remember he is 30 now and prone to long term injuries.I really wouldnt like to see him end up like, say, the once mighty Ben Wallace behind lame ass Ilgauskas and some clown named Varejao.
