Full story: Orlando Sentinel

When Sabrina Robinson heard that Swedish home-furnishing retailer IKEA was coming to Orlando, she circled the opening date on her calendar, asked for extra time off work and delayed planned furniture purchases.

One point that has not been mentioned is the Orange County and Orlando officials lobbied HARD for Ikea to come to Orlando. Seems that having an Ikea in your city sort of establishes you as a "Real" city, something Crotty, Dyer, et al; are trying hard to prove. Now if we could just do something about the crime and the homeless downtown.......

Actually, there is an IKEA in my hometown of Columbus, Ohio - its been there for 5 years - and the quality of product sucks. I furnished my 1st apt. with that crap and I was highly dissatisfied. I will always pay for quality; IKEA sells crap - to me. That is just my opinion!:)
Um, actually, there is not an IKEA in Ohio. They are opening the first IKEA in Ohio in West Chester, a suburb of Cincinncati, in February of 2008. I know- I've lived in Ohio for 29 years and I'm an IKEA fanatic- I would know if there was one in Columbus, my home town.

You want quality? Go to Robb & Stucky's or Ethan Allen. IKEA has junk compared to them.

Ethan Allen is for pretentious people or old people. My in-laws have Ethan Allen they bought a long, long time ago.
I've sat on Ikea furniture in a church media lobby room and it was just as comfortable as anything else.
Spoiled babies. lmao
Oh look, today it has in-laws. Tomorrow it will be a teenager. Is it male or female today? Fat? Thin? Ugly.....oh wait, it's always fat and ugly, nevermind. Oh and fatgirl? No one would let you sit on their furniture, you'd reduce it to a pile of matchsticks.

If it is like the container store it is overpriced for what it is. It is against the HOA to have IKEA outside. U have 2 get permissission to park a fifth wheel or store it elsewhere

The container store is expensive, but I can't stand WMart or Target. Ditto for ratty stores like Ross or Marshall's. Haven't been to Ikea.
