We have a local boy who graduated from the high school my 15 year-old GS attends. He chose to go to a community college when he could have been a walk-on for a bunch of colleges. He was drafted by the OU Sooners, and will play in the Cotton Bowl. GS and his dad are going to go see him.
I think every game he has played, he has had a lot of local people there cheering him on.
He is Moose Green--watch for him in the Cotton Bowl.
I will watch for him. That's always exciting to see a local when they "hit the big time".

Good morning Murph and Everyone.
I wish I could say it was springy here, but alas it's damp and we're in for a wind storm tonight and tomorrow.

I hope you won't get any storm damage. It is only 54 degrees here, but the sun is shining and there is no wind, so it feels Much warmer.

My mowing people are out there. It was sort of strange, instead of waiting for me to call, the man called me and said that my grass needed cut and that they would be here sometime over the weekend to do it. I just said, "Ok."

There's usually no storm damage, just a lot of picking up tree limbs.
Is the mowing man psychic? Or does he just think this is a good day (sunny) to get in that kind of work!
I wish everyone a sunny day, in spirit if not in weather.

He may have been needing some Christmas money and thought I looked easy.
I have had company off and on all day. At 4 PM, I thought it must be bedtime. I couldn't believe it when someone said it was four o'clock!!!

Good morning, allbodies.

Beat, so good to see you!

Went to the Christmas choral concert at jr's former high school last night. Hubby and I planned to go -- they are always fabulous. When the choral director heard we were going, she asked if I would video the concert for her.

It was a great concert. Now I have to figure out (again) how to upload, download, transcode, sideways load, etc. the video. This happens to me every time I tape something. You would think that when I finally figure it out (again) I would write it down. But, noooooooooo, I'm not that bright.

I always have trouble with the transcode/sideways load myself.

I'll bet you heard some beautiful music last night.

Good morning Marley and Liz and Allbodies.

Liz--we just got a light dusting of snow that was gone by 8AM. There must have been a lot of wind that night because some heavy wooden chairs were moved about 8 feet.

Y'all please wish me luck. I haven't been to theapy since a week ago Wednesday because I haven't been able to drive. I am going to try my best to get there this morning, then go for a haircut.

To All You Beautiful People

It is nearly over, this tragic year
So filled with worry and loss and fear
And horror and shock and pain and grief
And reading headlines beyond belief.

But through the darkness, every day
There was a light that came our way.
For some it came as a call from a firend,
Or the song of a bird or the giggle of a kid,
Or a cuddle with a dog--but shine it did.

This light shone on Cajun and Liz and Ruby and Jean
Whether that light was felt or seen.
It shone on Mousie and Marley and Shuaw and Gaye
It shone on all of us, every day.

It shone on Snarky and Jane and Missy and Beat.
Whether through a joke, or hug, or flower or song,
Every day that light shone on.

It lightened the hearts of Country and Tribe and Covcas and Race
And Hopeful, Florida Night Shift and Maggie and Same
And other folks I have forgotten to name.

No matter the darkness that is all about,
This is a light that will not go out.
We need to hold on, and hold on tight
To that beautiful and wonderful
And glorious
LIGHT.

8 feet? Are you sure it wasn't a tornado?
We have a storm advisory until tonight. So far only about a inch of snow but very windy.

Did I tell you Noah got a job at the restaurant Zach works at part time. They have valet parking and needed someone to stand outside a ask cars if they wanted valet service and if not where parking was available. Last week a lady called the police on him and told them a "little thug" was going up to cars in the parking lot". Two police cars showed up. Now the manager of the restaurant calls Noah " our little thug"

Today I'm doing my annual Christmas baking. A couple of batches of cookies and some fudge then I'm done with baking for another year! LOL

Did you make it to theapy? Is that anything like therapy? At least that's what we call it in the South.

Haircut?

How are you feeling?

No, Honey--theapy is so much better than therapy. In therapy, they made me work. In theapy, I just lay there like a rag doll.
I called the beauty operator to tell her I was on my way and ask her to come out and help me with the steps. She didn't answer, so I left a message. Of course, she didn't get the message. I made it up the curb and the steps (I had really been worried about them). She helped me down the steps and off the curb. You talk about something that makes a person feel feeble as hell, that will do it.
My leg is swollen from above my knee, down and including my foot. In therpy (better even than theapy) they said it was fluid from the inflamation in my knee. I have Always had strong, healthy knees.
Do you have to do Wally today? If so,God be with you!

The woman who called is probably one on those detestable people who think anyone under thirty is a little thug.
"Our little thug"----I love it!

Have y'all heard of Tommy Copper compression gloves? I had never heard of them, but son and DIL got me a pair for an early Christmas gift. They can be worn night and day and are machine washable. Don't know yet whether they are helping.
