George Zimmerman trial: Casey Anthony connection

The George Zimmerman trial Friday prompted TV's legal analysts to think back to the Casey Anthony case. The comparison was highly unfavorable to the prosecution.
The state was falling into the same trap as the Anthony prosecutors, said Debra Ferwerda, legal analyst for WOFL-Channel 35. "They're basically arguing something that they can't prove," she said. "If they can't prove second-degree murder, they should stand up and say,'We concede. We can't prove that.' "

While not all circumstances in a murder can be proven, the similar weakness in these two cases appears to be lack of convincing motive.....other than both suddenly turned into A MONSTER one day.
Skankpig was a monster long before she killed her kid, and Mr. Zimmerman isn't a monster at all. Mr. Zimmerman is a man who defended his life from a monster.

So then what do you suppose makes people become "monsters"?

There's that. Plus, both of their victims were considerably smaller in size, less powerful in might, and not armed. Or, a level playing field according to Florida justice system supporters.

Texas EquuSearch gets large donation
Published On: Jun 25 2013 02:56:22 PM CDT

A Dickinson, Texas-based group that searches for missing people around the country and world got a big donation.

Texas EquuSearch’s founder, Tim Miller, posted on the organization’s website that the charity received a $10,000 donation.

Local 2 reported last week that the group was worrying about its future after a volunteer was accused racking up at least $4,700 in charges on one of the charity’s credit cards and then thieves took off with equipment and search gear.

Miller said without donations like this one, the charity could not exist.

One of the most amusing stories in the Tim Miller civil suit.....if the supposed "Unjust Enrichment" case ever went forward after this was never reported, however in real life I don't imagine a court would be very accommodating to litigation intentionally stalled by the plaintiff who filed the suit.

Tim Miller fails to show for deposition in Casey Anthony civil case
Texas Equusearch suing Anthony for search costs

Published On: Dec 20 2011 12:49:02 PM EST Updated On: Dec 20 2011 01:12:15 PM EST

ORLANDO, Fla.-
Tim Miller, the leader of Texas Equusearch, failed to show up Tuesday for a deposition in a case involving Casey Anthony, whom the group is suing.

Miller's group is suing Anthony, 26, for the costs incurred while searching for her daughter, Caylee, who was reported missing in 2008. The group spent more than $100,000 while searching for Caylee, who was 2 when she was reported missing in July 2008. Her body was found by a meter reader about five months later.

Miller was scheduled to be at an attorney's office at 9 a.m. to be deposed by Anthony's attorneys but was a no-show.

Anthony's civil attorney, Charles Greene, said Miller was under subpoena to appear and no alternate date was given. It's not known if a judge will hold Miller in contempt of court.

Miller's lawyer, Marc Wites, told Local 6 on Monday that his client wasn't planning on attending the deposition. Wites is hopeful Anthony will have to answer questions in the case first.

About TES

<snip>

You will find our organization to be compassionate, dedicated and professional. We believe that we can better ourselves by working together to help the community and people in need. Many of our members are trained in various rescue and life saving skills such as CPR, advanced lifesaving skills and field craft. Our members come from all walks of life, consisting of business owners, medics, firefighters, housewives, electricians, students, former FBI and law enforcement, current law enforcement, former and current U.S. Marshall, Coast Guard and all walks of military, former and current, on our team. Our resources range from horse and rider teams to foot searchers and ATVs. We conduct water searches using boats, divers and sonar equipment. Additionally, we perform air searches using planes, helicopters and small drone airplanes with highly sophisticated cameras. We have also utilized infrared and night vision cameras, along with ground penetration units in some of our searches. Texas EquuSearch has more resources than most law enforcement agencies, which allows law enforcement to conduct their investigation, while Texas EquuSearch conducts organized searches. This has worked out to be a great working relationship between law enforcement and Texas EquuSearch. This has also resulted in Texas EquuSearch being contacted by law enforcement agencies across the nation to assist them in their missing person cases.

Texas EquuSearch has been involved in 1,350+ searches in approximately 42 states in the United States, Aruba, Sri Lanka, Mexico, Jamaica, Dominican Republic and Nicaragua. Our efforts have proven successful with returning over 300 missing people home to their families safely, many of which would have been deceased. Texas EquuSearch is responsible for recovering the remains of 159 missing loved ones, bringing closure to many families. Many of the 156 cases have resulted in criminal cases. At no time during any of the searches was evidence compromised by Texas EquuSearch. Therefore, the suspect(s) were brought to justice resulting in convictions. Additionally, Mr. Miller has been involved in several murder trials.

What's unbelievable about this civil suit is we must assume this one time TES was working for only for Casey Anthony, George and Cindy as well, after Casey was already arrested, even after she was charged with murder - as opposed to the organization partnering with the Orange County Sheriff's Office according to its own public statements. That's a difficult obstacle to overcome in this storyline, since early on TES was also paid money by OCSO to offset its expenses. According to Jeff Ashton's book, Yuri Melich was given information that TES searchers had also (mistakingly) cleared Suburban Drive, which was the reason Roy Kronk's August sighting of the dead body was not taken seriously and the reason why Deputy Cain was later fired.

If this storyline was real life, by TES's admittance that it was ONLY searching for a living Caylee, Deputy Cain was then wrongfully dismissed because it is perposterous that TES ever searched for a living child in a snake infested swamp two months after the child was reporting missing.....plus wherever the organization was looking for a living child, it was obviously under OCSO's direction.

Texas EquuSearch Wants Casey Anthony To Talk
Published On: Dec 19 2011 04:53:31 AM EST
Updated On: Dec 19 2011 05:36:42 AM EST

"Mark Wites, the attorney for Texas EquuSearch, said that Anthony's Fifth Amendment right should not extend to all of the questions she has so far refused to answer -- including the question of whether what her own attorney said in the opening statement of her criminal trial regarding Caylee drowning on June 16, 2008, is true.

"We want confirmation that what Jose Baez said in his opening statement is in fact the truth. He's an officer of the court, and he was her lawyer and her agent. He made those statements in a criminal trial, and we want confirmation from Casey Anthony that they're true," Wites said.

Wites said if Equusearch can get Anthony to admit she lied about her daughter being missing when she knew she was dead, it goes a long way to proving Equusearch's case that Anthony is responsible for the costs of the search for Caylee."

As a coincidental aside, Tim Miller's daughter, attributed as the reason he originally founded Equuseach, reportedly suffered from seizures as does Casey Anthony.

*******

"Laura had a lot of struggles in her life," he says. "When she was six months old, she got very sick and we almost lost her. She was in a coma for a day and a half, but then she came out of that and her fever went down. She seemed all right, but years later she had a seizure, because the fever had left scar tissue in her brain. So for about seven years we struggled with her seizure problem. Then eventually she grew out of it and became an A and B student. She loved music and sang all the time. She was popular in school and had a lot of friends. It looked like she would be all right."

But she wasn't. When Laura was eleven, she came down with the flu, which gave her yet another high fever, with the return of the seizures. "Her whole life was kind of stripped away from her," Miller muses. The family felt disheartened by this set-back. But the worst was yet to come.

Texas EquuSearch promises they will not give up
6/20/2013

SANTA FE, TX – If you don’t know what EquuSearch is, you probably don’t live in Texas. This organization helps families find their missing loved ones.

“In 13 years we’ve been on over 1,300 cases,’ says Tim Miller, founder-director of Texas EquuSearch.‘We found many, many missing people alive.”

But financial difficulties and theft of equipment and money have brought EquuSearch to the brink of collapse.

“The thing that hurt the most of course was Vernon Armentor that took all the money,’ confessed Miller,‘because he was my daughter Laura’s boyfriend.”

Armentor, a former staff member, was arrested on charges of credit card abuse. Laura was abducted and murdered in 1984, what lead Miller to create Texas EquuSearch. But luckily, there’s still hope ahead.

********

The Millers moved to a new house, and Tim and his wife worked different shifts. One day he went to work, while Laura's mother took Laura to the payphone at the local convenience store so she could talk with her boyfriend, Vernon. When her mother asked her to hurry up because she'd be late for work, Laura wanted to continue talking. "It's only half a mile," she said. "I'll walk."

That seemed all right. It was the middle of the day and Laura knew her way back. But she didn't come back. When her parents returned home from work, she wasn't there.

"We didn't think a lot about it," says Miller. "We just figured Laura got home early, and her and Vernon took a walk. But then Vernon showed up without her and we asked where Laura was. He said he had talked to her on the phone, but he hadn't heard from her since. That's when we started getting concerned. We looked all over that night, and then we drove all over the neighborhood."

This supposed theft by the deceased daughter's boyfriend woven into current TES happenings is certainly beyond coincidence. Depending on various reports, Armentor had access to either a TES debit or TES credit card (but it can't be both LOL)

Well Well Well - doesn't look good that the civil lawsuits will be going anywhere - my past posts (pre-not guilty verdict) will clearly support that I did NOT believe that the State had the GOODS on Anthony - WHY?- Because the police poorly investigated and processed the case.

Do I suspect that she is guilty? Yes, but what I suspect and what can be proven in a court of law are totally two different things - apparently, many on this forum are just learning that lesson in life.

"Vernon Armentor, now 48, is now in the Galveston County Jail on a charge of Credit Card Abuse. The card was none other than Texas Eqqusearch’s card. It was used over a period of time when one of the members who trusted Armentor would leave it in his billfold in the truck during searches. It was left behind due to the conditions on many searches, wading through swamps, lakes, mud and heavy brush. With over $4000 spent of the non-profit organizations money in almost thirty transactions Tim Miller is still in shock."

......"one of the members who trusted Armentor would leave it (the TES credit card) in his billfold in the truck during searches".

It was used "over a period of time" - thirty transactions......

So how did Armentor break into the truck and then put the card back each time, so "one of the members" never noticed it was missing.

This story is not adding up!

And if TES record keeping is so lax that it didn't review it's monthly credit card statements "over a period of time", how is it certain it lost $100,000 through the Caylee search or that those expenses were legitimate.....and where'd the public donations go?
