Not sure if there are any good areas in Orlando if most of the folks are like the miserable vigilantes here on topix.

I would move out of Cleveland but stay in Ohio. It's beautiful there if you have the money to be in a great neighborhood like Bratenahl. Unfortunately, there are bad areas close to Bratenahl and some are moving elsewhere. Then, before the ice hits, go to your vacation home in Naples.

Is Ocoee a good place to live anymore? Heard it is rough now. Been gone for years.

This is easy drive around the areas you like, if there are people hanging around sitting on the porches, standing on the corners, or cars or tucks on blocks, engines on the ground, tires leaning on the carport,or parked in the yard front or back, Loud rap or salsa music playing, Avoid at all costs.
Look for this instead, trees lots of trees, two lane roads, people riding their bicycles, childern playing in the yard with the hose, Garage doors down, cars and or suvs parked on the driveway. Birds singing, the smell of bbq, the sound of lawn maintentance being done. The humm of an 4-5 ton AC unit, or the sound of the pool pump. Buy here would be your best bet.
PS Color and or Race will not be an issue here either.
Doesn't florida have homeowners associations (HOA)?

Thank you Rollins girl, that is a great start.
Haha, these answers seem a little biased. Talk to a local realtor. First off, it depends on your needs and priorities. There is nothing wrong with South Orlando as a whole. One of the most upscale areas of the metro area is in the southwest end (Dr. Phillips). Also, one of the best family orientated communities is in the southwest as well (Hunter's Creek). The Southeast quadrant is where the airport and more industry resides, so it may not be the best place for someone looking for a quiet life. But then again, if you are going to be working at the airport or one of the many distribution hubs, that's got some nice neighborhoods also.

This Orange blossom trail folks speak of is a main drag through the county. it has some seedy sections for sure. Most of the bad sections are in the area around the city center and just north and south of that. again, nothing wrong in general with OBT if you want to live in an area with lots of shopping and bus routes.

Good luck
