And was passed as they denied me over things they did not complete. They were found out and fired of coarse. Stop them from happening when they happen! But don't come up to me later and say. You screwed my ancestors,, You brought me here to begin with against my will,,,,, I say screw the indians that take advantage of our system to gain greater benifit than their neibor!

They give little back to whose community........The Tribe has funded quite a few events, fundraisers, rez rallys, walk-a-thons, holiday festivities, etc. And actually every Big holiday ie Fourth of July, New Year's. etc there is a huge celebration at the Hard Rock for the
COMMUNITY.

It's nice to see the legalized and illegitimate handouts the U.S. Government has given to the tribes. The non-competitive gambling abilities they have had for decades now... it's no surprise.
Here, you can have casino's, but no one else can... geee golly... now they are buying billion dollar american landmark corporations, and will only continue to grow and outcompete the hard working american because of insanely unfair advantages...
I honestly call upon American's to stop giving the tribes your money, don't visit their hard rock hotel, ignore the indian casino's, and boycott everything they do. We are hurting ourselves and making these criminals rich.
Are you insane? Saying that these tribes are going to outcompete "American Businesses". You need to consider where you are. There is a term some use but I don't personally care for it. It is "Native American". Native to this land.
Gee Golly, when are we that are Native to this land going to get reimbursed for all the land that was taken? Oh, I forgot, that is the reason for Indian Casino's. To make up for having our culture, religion, language and often our lives taken from us. What a bargain huh?

The tribe screws their employee's every time. No Christmas bonus to employees?? They made more money this year than last year. Anyone considering working for them better take the warning. They want employee's to work every holiday and miss every family event. Then on top of that, you get no bonus!!! The council controlling the cash is very greedy selfish. I know from experience. What goes around comes around.

First of all the tribe was doing alligator wrestling and giving tours of poverty stricken seminoles living in chickees for decades. I remember school field trips to the tribal area on 441 in the 60's and 70's. They lived like peasants and sold s---t like beads and rubber bows and arrows. Now that they have hit it big you have a problem with their new found wealth. Guess what? They are a soverign nation that is imdependent of ours and they can spend their money as they see fit and there is not a f---king thing Florida or the local law enforcement can do about it. If they open strip clubs, alcohol sales, cock fights, dog fights, whatever they are untouchable per federal law. They are a foreign country living amung us. The notion that this newspaper is investigating abuses of spending is laughable. You might as well run a piece on China rulers spending on hookers. This paper and those who read it have no say in what the seminoles do with the money. They are accountable to no one. They do have gambling compacts with the govt. but that is about it. Truth is the place is pretty exciting and entertaining. First really big project i have seen in the 50 years i have lived here. Food, music, comedy clubs, gambling,a hotel, great shows- who has done this before? The Diplomat hotel of yesteryear. I think not. Understand this- The seminoles dont give a rats a---s what this paper thinks or anyone else for that matter. They can do what they want and they do. LIve with it you cant change it.

Maybe you would like them better if they were wreltling alligators for dollar bill tips like the old days and selling beads and cigaretttes. They found the magic carpet and they are riding it. Dont like the working conditions then dont work there crybaby. If you quit there are a thousand stiffs out there waiting for your job. When they lived like pions in disgusting houses and were poor all was ok. Now you gotta problem with them. Think about their standard of living just 20 years ago and you tell me how much they should care about our welfare. Dont be so ignorant and niave

I am constantly amazed at the negative publicity imposed on to us by this paper and the St.Pete Times.
This segment gets my goat most of all.
The most rediculious accusation being that the board members have spent money on cosmetic surgery..Lol dang!! which one? yeah I can tell both the Cypress Bros. have had a face lift, lipo suction and tummy tuck. Or does dental veneersnow count as cosmetic surgery in the commentators eyes?
So who is comming in and swiping the info. from the tribe now? The dominos pizza delivery guy?
So lets see what else has the tribe splurged on? oh yeah!! luxury cars. Well heaven forbid my sister and Seminole elders can ride around in the tipacal Lincoln Town car, like the Fla. retirees and snow birds own.
Now it is wrong for is to own a t.v.
A sin to buy stereo equiptment. Excuse me we didnt know having a t.v and stereo was a mortal sin if you are Seminole Indian.

Not every Seminole person wants the added expence and burden of living in a house with more rooms than you need. My modest 3 bedroom bungalow in Fla. is quite large enough for me, especially when I have to deal with all the sand dust we get.^^^^T.

Hello I'm a member of the seminole tribe of florida, and i have to say that are tribal leaders are full of [email protected] when they say "that there is no favortism among their own family. S everal members of the tribe have tried to get assistance from Mitchell Cypress and his brother David but were denied, because they (Mitchell and David) said there were no funds to help us. To me all I see is every tribal leader getting rich will the rest of us get the change. And you may ask why dont any of the tribal members speak up, it's because if any one tries to say anything, do you think their gonna get help from them. absoultle not. What can we do? let me back up a little, the only time they really help us is when its election. and thats maybe a thousand maybe two or three if your lucky. But whats that compaired to their 32 million budget, all I can say is their selfish and right now we cant do anything about it. I hope you print this in the news paper I would hope they would see the cry for help their 3.320 members are wanting. to all of the tribal council members and you know who you are, stop spending money on your self and help us. and whats up with this red line company that Mitchell and the liasion from ft pierce got going on. let me give you a quick example of how crazy they get their selves rich. For the 50 anniversy the red line company ordered a tent for 800,000 to run the event. but they sent in a bill to the tribe for $ 300,000,000 dollars. crazy , right and thats are own chairman and Sally tommie. must be nice. I really do hope you print this it would do some good. Shoo-na-bish(Thanks)

To Leslie Gopher,

What is done in the Tribe, stays in the Tribe? You want "white man's law" then you lose your Sovereign Nation! One Way or the Other Way, Not Both... not "Benefits of Both" "Rules of Neither"!

So what?? What they do with their wealth is their businness. We have only ourselves to blame.
We took their land, subjucated them, massacred them and put them in deplorable, horrible conditions. In the end we did nothin to make their life a little less miserable. We assimilated them into our alien society but gave theem non of the benifits.
More power to them !!!

Ummmmmmmmmmm......blacks have been enjoying "unfair rights" for 50 years now. It's called affirmative action, quota systems, etc. I don't begrudge the tribe their success with the casinos and in fact give them a bit of money now and then myself when I spend a day at the Hard Rock, but the whole "reparation" thing for ANY group is ridiculous. My ancestors came here, conquered the natives, and created the greatest nation in the world. I feel no guilt for that, nor should anyone. I'm tired of minorities trying to feed from white guilt. The Seminoles and many other tribes found a way to make a LOT of money, and I applaud them for their entrepeneurship. It has nothing to do with "making amends". We have NOTHING to make amends for.
