Maybe they should stop developing ALL of the land for empty strip malls and empty condos so the animals have a place to live and find food...Just a thought

Coyotes have been in Florida for about the past 50 years. They migrated naturally from Georgia and Alabama.

There are plenty of criminals up here in Orlando. Maybe we can find a way to get rid of them AND feed the hungry coyotes...

This is why I carry a fire arm when I walk my dogs....especially at night. If it ain't the four legged animals, it's the two legged ones! www.ourtownreport.com

That dog was lucky to have such a feisty owner! I hope people will realize how important it is to not allow their pets to roam freely or without supervision.

So if coyotes attack dogs, will they attack people also? I like to hike the state and national forests, and will be afraid if they can attack humans too.

Does anyone know of their habits?

Thank you in advance!

Unless a coyote is rabid, you shouldn't have to worry about them stalking/attacking you.

If the coyote is healthy, and is just hungry, it will look for prey that is of reasonable size (i.e. a small dog, cats, etc). Coyotes are a lot smaller than you'd think, resembling a large fox almost. You should have nothing to worry about, but still always be prepared.

I live in Clermont and have killed two coyotes in my backyard...one while attacking my dog. We no longer have any cats in the neighborhood. Its not the development, its that they have no predators in florida and with all the dogs, cats and rabbits to eat they are spreading like wildfire.

Can't we send these illegal Coyotes back to Mexico?

Sounds like we need a good Coyote hunt. Sell some stamps/permits and allow them to mount the heads on the wall.

DANG THAT GUY HAS sum guts to attack it with steel pipe-I guess if they tried to attack my dog I would try and do anything I can to help my pup-I agree with "JMG" #9 people should not let their dogs roam around without a leash-there are hawks by my house that stalk dogs!
