Sometime early Thursday afternoon, the camp's star counselor went bonkers. Berserk. Cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs. Full Story

If this trade means they can;r re-sign Hedo (and it likely does) then it s*cks. Who's the forward next to Rashard? Hedo got this team to the Finals. it'll never get back without him. Typical Orlando. Team is so close to winning a championship and knucklehead GM decides it needs a major overhaul. I can already see lotsa empty seats in that new arena. Magic have a soft fan base.
Jimbo, Hedo did not get this time to the finals, he was a piece, but the main piece was Dwight, demanding double teams and freeing up the other Magic players. And how many games did Hedo disappear in? Yes, he had a few shining moments, a couple of those on nights when he was 1-11. If he had made more shots, than he wouldnt need to make a heroic shot at the end. Lets look at some game stats of him in the playoffs.

In 4 out of 6 games with Philly, he went 2-8, 3-10, 2-12 and 3-14. Awfully bad numbers.

against boston, he had games of 6-16, 4-14 and 3-13.

Against cleveland, he had games of 4-11, 1-11 and 3-12.

He also averaged almost 3 to's a game. Yes he is a good player, but not a great player, and not worth $10+ a year for any length of time. That money would be better spent on depth.

OTIS PLEASE FIND A WAY TO SIGN 'SHEED!
agree with u 100% exactly how i felt, but with the right moves and ryan anderson bringing what i suspect he can, this could be much better than my initial feelings about the trade. OTIS, WE NEED SHEED!(David Lee would be nice too though)

wow, I think this has the potential to be big, if vince still has game and means what he says! If Otis can resign Gortat or this RYan anderson has as much game as I am reading about, Oris is looking at GM of the year next year ... and maybe a ring. Can Vince slow down Kobe and Lebron? Can they slow him down? hmmmm

Having 4 All-Stars is going to be incredible. VC give us another consistent scorer for opponents to worry about.
Otis needs to put a few more pieces together on the bench and we'll be right in contention next year.
I think this trade cancels out Grampa Shaq's addition to the Cavs.
GO MAGIC
Here's a clue. There was only ONE AllStar on the Magic team. Dwight Howard. Now there will be two. Vince & Dwight.
Lewis was a fillin, Jameer was a fillin and shouldnt have even been a fillin.
I like the Carter trade. I only wish they would have kept Lee and had used him at PG last year so they could get rid of Nelson. Lee has ball skills to be a good sized PG.
They should have traded Jameer to Jersey. Anyway I see Sheed here unless Otis doesnt like his attitude. Bass would be the best choice but someone will give him big money.
Dont forget Ryan Anderson...the guys gonna be a plus for the Magic.

Lets face it, Orlando is a good place to get paid and to coast.

First Hill, then Lewis, now Carter.

You left out T-Mac!

But seriously the Magic will dominate next season. Otis is a great GM. Vinsanity is not OTH. 400lb Shaq-Daddy is! He will be Dwight's beetch.

I wonder how soon JJ can go to the Suns or Houston or the Knicks(my Fav pick).... Anyway old man Amway will probably die and then an overwhelming sadness will engulf the Magic.

Then Otis and VanNumby can use that as an excuse as to the terrible season the Magic had next year.

Trust me on this, ok? The Magi ain't gettin' back to the finals, much less winnin' a championship without Hedo. Remember that when you're making excuses next May about why they didn't get as far with Vince Carter - and whoever else the dumb-as-dogshi* GM brings in.

as a nets fan who has watched every nets game the last fe years i thought i would give u my opinion about VC and the trade.

the most important point in relation to how i think he will do for orlando. DON'T WORRY ABOUT HIM DEMANDING SHOTS. he is not an alphadog like kobe or wade... he is more laid back and woul actually prefer a secondary or even third or fourth option role.
last year vince proved this by happily playing 2nd fiddle to devin harris. he didnt have a problem with jefferson being the go-to guy the year before either. this guy likes to play-make just as much as score, and hes so good at it that he ended up playing PG for the Nets on many occasions.

that being said, he doesnt like to drive that much, and when he does his loss of explosiveness has made him much less effective then in years past. he is going for they crazy layup now, as opposed to the monster dunk. plus he doesn't work as hard as he should on defense, and sometimes gets abused. he is a capable defender when he goes for it though.

vinces contract might be bad..... but hedos will look worse in a few years if he actually gets 50 over 5.

BTW, Ryan Anderson is going to be a solid rotational player for years to come. he has the 3 point stroke to really do well in a system like orlandos. his lack of lateral quickness will hold him back, but he could be a starter quality player at some point in the next few years. some nets fans think hes as good or better a prospect as Courtney Lee. i think Lee is a definite starter and potentially special though.

all in all, as long as vince carter doesn't get way older very quickly, which is possible at his age, u guys did good. especially since i think Ryan Anderson is not as giant a dropoff of a porospect as Courtney Lee as people think. Ryan will benefit from being surrounded by talent, just like Lee did.

Yeah Dwight and Jameer (mainly dwight) are more leaders by example. I'm hoping Vince will get in people's grills so maybe SVG can save his voice in huddles every once in a while. Vince will bring an attitude that we havent had. If we bring in sheed then that would bring more attitude. Im not talking about yelling at the refs attitude, Im talking about yelling at the other team attitude (like what dwight did when Varejao after he tried to tackle him). Also sheed would complain about calls for dwight so dwight wont have to worry about being suspended. I'm loving this as the Magic are going to be competitive in attitude next year. People forget that the Magic will be so much better because Dwight will probably improve a lot and Jameer will be back and maybe better. Only problem: lack of depth at almost every position.
I woudlnt say that we have a lack of depth at EVERY position...

PG:Meer',AJ=SOLIDIFIED

SG:Vinsanity,J.J.=SOLIDIFIED

SF:Sweet Lew,MP=SOLIDIFIED

PF:(Sheed'/MckieD),Ryan Anderson=TBD

C:Dwight Howard,(Brandon Bass,etc)=TBD

TBD=to be determined....

looks like solid depth....we jsut need a starting PF and a backup center....

Hopefully playing close to home will inspire Vince to really make a difference. Chauncey returning to Denver got them far into the post-season. Ariza grew up in LA, where his 50% 3-pt shooting in the playoffs was often the spark that would shift the moment.

Why do we need to bring in these guys in the "twilight" of their career? The guy is about used up, and we could have kept 6' 10" Turk who was awesome. What is Carter like 34 years old? Gee, why don't we bring back Shaq too? Carter may have a few good games left in him but he is past his prime. We should have kept Turk and Courtney and kept the chemistry together.
