I think it's great how VC understands the importance of this trade.

Alot of people are not convinced, and in VC's whole career he's had to go through alot of critism, but VC still has what it takes to help this team to a championship, and I can't wait till the season starts.

I absolutely agree with you. It seems like there's a lot of Vince Carter hate out there but I don't think he's ever had enough talent around him each year to win a championship, this will be his first legitimate chance. This trade combined with the future moves that Otis Smith plans on making have me impatiently awaiting next season. Go Magic!

After the shock of this trade wore off ("not Courtney Lee!"), I've become even more excited to see the team next season.

One thing I'm not sold on is how Brian Schmitz referred (more than once) to VC "leading" the team. That's a job for Dwight and Jameer. VC certainly will have a large role, which includes veteran leadership, but he's not coming in to take over the position as the face of the franchise and won't be leading the Magic's parade in June.

I'll admit that when I first heard about the trade for VC I was... skeptical (Sucks that we lose CLee). But after letting it stew for a few days, I'm starting to like it.

OTIS PLEASE FIND A WAY TO SIGN 'SHEED!

Vince Carter is more of a leader than Dwight Howard due to his previous success as a player. This is Dwight Howards team however.

Yeah Dwight and Jameer (mainly dwight) are more leaders by example. I'm hoping Vince will get in people's grills so maybe SVG can save his voice in huddles every once in a while. Vince will bring an attitude that we havent had. If we bring in sheed then that would bring more attitude. Im not talking about yelling at the refs attitude, Im talking about yelling at the other team attitude (like what dwight did when Varejao after he tried to tackle him). Also sheed would complain about calls for dwight so dwight wont have to worry about being suspended. I'm loving this as the Magic are going to be competitive in attitude next year. People forget that the Magic will be so much better because Dwight will probably improve a lot and Jameer will be back and maybe better. Only problem: lack of depth at almost every position.

You guys don't realize that with commitment to win comes sacrifice, CLEE was a good rookie and will be a good player, but VC gives us what Ray Allen gave the Celts another person they need to double team to stop, Sheed is a necissary pick up! We need him bad we haven't had a real PF in years! And he's as real as they get see him beating us down for years! He wants another ring and has a lot left to give a team! And hell teach D12 and R.Anderson the basketball IQ they lack! The most important thing other then locking down sheed so LeBrick doesn't is please someone tell Patrick Ewing to work on a jump shot for D12 then no one can stop us! This team is built very similar with Sheed to the Celts who won and may have given us a run and won last year had KG and Powe been healthy! We need to keep Gortat to play behind Dwight and Ghill is another great option and he knows our offense style from playing with D12 before! Calm down VC will do well if you guys stop talking smack and let him play! Does anyone even watch NBA games around here he didn't look like he lost too much when they play us did he? Ray Allens old and still did wonders for the Celts have faith! I got the perfect idea for a back up point guard too! Bring my boy Chucky Atkins back!!!! Pine Hills Finest! Then its a home coming for him and VC! But lock up sheed first! Then McDyess if hell take the minimum and the Hill the same and we got a great squad you guys forget Lewis is a SF and will be more comfortable going back to that and we got Pietrus and Anderson off the bench!

All this talk about Carter not being the answer. Wait a minute.. who was Pierce before they got KG?. Who was Ray Allen before Boston? How close did KG go before Boston? This is going to be 4 out 5 all-stars. Great system, good coach, a team that just when to the Finals. Let's be a little more positive. I will miss C.Lee also, but the window to win is very short. I like the commitment. I will always be a MAGIC FAN. I'm Hype. Re-posted

What trade would you like to see for Hedo and Reddick? I would love Shane and Luis Scola. The Rockets will keep there core.

Next season will be great! Cant wait, if we go all the way then they might be able to call Jameer a legitimate superstar instead of team proclaimed Superstar! I hope it works. I would love to see Gortat return!

Vince Carter coming to Orlando is great news. When are they going to announce the new coach?

Leadership comes in many different forms and shapes. Vince has the opportunity to join a team with tremendous potential. His challenges will be many but I think Otis plucked him at just the right moment in time. Orlando needed meet and also add to what Turk gave us and now he's off to greener pastures, best of luck Turk and thanks for all the help, but Vince fits the bill nicely and I suspect Otis knows that all to well.
If Otis lands Sheed and Bass this summer then the league better watch out...cause there's a bad-ass storm coming.

Having 4 All-Stars is going to be incredible. VC give us another consistent scorer for opponents to worry about.

Otis needs to put a few more pieces together on the bench and we'll be right in contention next year.

I think this trade cancels out Grampa Shaq's addition to the Cavs.

Anybody that thinks letting Hedo go is trivial didnt watch Orlando last season. The only way this makes sense is if we can get Sheed at the 4 . Losing a 6 10 guy with Hedo's offensive power is a big blow. Losing Courtney Lee for a 33 yo Carter doesnt make sense either.
You dont blow up a team that was a few breaks from winning the NBA championship unless your sure you are getting some quality free agents. Perhaps Otis already knows that will happen. If he doesnt than this was a stupid gamble.

If this trade means they can;r re-sign Hedo (and it likely does) then it s*cks. Who's the forward next to Rashard? Hedo got this team to the Finals. it'll never get back without him. Typical Orlando. Team is so close to winning a championship and knucklehead GM decides it needs a major overhaul. I can already see lotsa empty seats in that new arena. Magic have a soft fan base.
