Yeah, that's what it's like in The Villages. Lots of active older people. People in the 60's and 70's still playing sports. It 's like nowhere else in the world. Have you visited The Villages ?
You live in Florida. I don't. I have visited Florida. I'm glad my spouse didn't get a wild hair to move there. I have a friend who lived in Texas, then family was stationed in Arizona (hated the lack of green) and then finally landed in Florida where they retired. The schools were so awful that she home schooled her child until she finished recently. As you might have guessed, I'm not retirement age. lol

Looks like you lost another 2 pounds. Good for you. I'm 55, so I'm a young retiree. I really LOVE the Villages. There are so many pools and golf courses and thousands of clubs. We even have a Texas club. Schools are pretty bad here but most people come here afte the kids are grown, so it doesn't really matter to them. It's nice to have sunshine all year round. I'm originally from NYC. No more snow to shovel. Yeah !

It's amazing the difference 10 lbs. can make. I need to take my pants in. I run the stairs several times a day. I'm tucking my shirts in and belting my pants. I love snow but not driving on the ice.
I have spent Christmases where there is snow and ice. It's beautiful if you don't have to go anywhere, not so much if you HAVE to drive in it.

There's many communities here for 55 and up that are for active adults. I haven't checked into them for the future.

Sorry, but I'm still younger than you. Also, I went over to a friend's place today and the elevator was out, so it was three flights of stairs up and down. No problem for me.

Ms. Paranoid Schiz-Silly thinks I'm posting from Lady Lake, FL. You can't fix stupid. They're so paranoid that they see me by the mailbox, by their car, by every shrub and tree. Crazy is as crazy does.

I've never been there myself, but from what I've heard others say, it's full of fat old people rolling around in golf carts in between their booze binges.

Is that why you're in the house 24/7 posting drivel? Too fat to go outside?? Oh and psychotwat, on one of the millions of threads that you spammed today you said you bought yourself a whole new wardrobe......for $500.00. How's that Wal-Mart polyester muumuu workin' for ya, fatgirl???
It was 103 last time I went shopping. Cotton - the fabric of our lives. I wear capri pants and tees or shorts and a tee with sandals since you must know.

I wouldn't know what WM offers in the clothing dept. since I don't shop there. Ditto for Target.
I guess with your cut in pay, you must know a great deal about shopping on the cheap. I've found it is better to go for a name brand which is going to fit better and last longer.

Only people who are over a size 18 shop in the knit stretch pants dept. I saw Honey Boo Boo's mom while flipping the channels. She has blonde hair like you. She allegedly lost 100 pounds. Where? She and her whole family are disgusting. I quickly changed the channel but not before seeing her and all her piglets. That show should not be on the air.

It's 103, so yes it is a little hot outside. After September, when it cools off to 90, I will probably be gone, gone, gone.

To point out that you're most probably full of shit about The Villages being full of fit people. You make the place sound like a Jane Fonda workout video. I've always heard the opposite from those who have spent time there.

"It 's like nowhere else in the world"....Only in The Villages do people play sports in their 60s and 70s, yeah ok. Retirees can't possibly play golf or tennis or swim in other parts of Florida. No way.

You wouldn't happen to be a realtor up there, now would ya?

That's what I've heard. SkinnyGirl acts like The Villages is some kind of Muscle Beach for retirees.

This has the real deal. They have Camp Villages for the grandkids. I guess it's great if the kids spend the summers with grandma and grandpa. How often does that happen anymore. Many grandparents are like the obviously mentally off posters (over 50) who post here. They don't get the grandkids in the summer, so they are on here all the time, trying out different socks. Yikes.

Don't you mean 2 instead of 1? You junior high digs are pretty lame.

Here's a link to the Villages Senior Games, a yearly sports competition for those 50 years of age and older.
Check out page 3 for a list of the events. Will you be playing ANY of these sports when YOU are over 50 ??
Probably NOT, unless you move to The Villages.

Gawd you're an idiot. I'll be 57 next month. I swim laps daily, work full time, and maintain a 4 bedroom home. You must be a real estate agent for the over-priced, badly built homes in the Villages. If you like it there, fine. Enjoy. But it's nothing special, just another retirement village with a bunch of old people on golf carts. Oh, it does have a claim to fame......or infamy........the fastest rising rate of STD's in the state. I must correct myself, a bunch of stupid horny old people who apparently never heard of condoms.
You dont live here and know NOTHING about The Villages.
All these rumors you just make up cause you are jealous.
We love it here.

First of all, the STD story was a rumor, which the newsperson retracted ONE WEEK after making the comment with NO FACTS. She apologized 6 YEARS AGO but idiots like you just keep spreading the rumor.
Second, you CANNOT prevent STD's by using condoms. Where were you during sex ed...asleep ?
