Orlando has a reputation of being the chain-restaurant capital of the world. I'm not sure it's a sobriquet we deserve. Full Story

You must have still been drunk when you wrote this. BJ's is refreshing. It's different than anything in Central Florida right now. It has items not on any other local menu and the staff has been overly pleasant and overly helpful every time I've been there.

The idea of a restaurant in Orlando without Bud Light is ridiculous. I understand that some people drink "micros" but come on. They carry other global brands!!!!

My friends and I decided to try out BJ's but I will never go back. One of our orders was cold and one friend never got her meal until we complained to a manager and it was served in a to-go box. Some of our food tasted good but with no drink refils or courtesy from our server I won't return.

We just ate there with a party of 17. The service was poor. The waiter couldnt seem to handle 17 people because the orders were done in parts, At the end some of us had no drinks. One person wanted no cheese on the potatoes so all three of us were without. The list goes on with many, many problems. At the end, they would not split up the check, there was an item charged that we didn't order. and 17% was added for gratuity. I would not have paid that for service. We will never go back again.

This review was right on target. After the first visit two weeks ago for someones going away party, I vowed never to return. It took our server over 45 minutes to present our check. Their system doesn't allow you to split checks once the first person splits and pays. A manager has to swipe each transaction after the first has been deducted. Needless to say...they didn't even offer anything for my wait. Where has good customer service gone?

Looks like an interesting place: Have to give it a try, however $13.50 for a small pizza is a little pricy.I hope that Darden does not buy it, as what quality they have now will certainly go down hill for sure. Darden has a strange way of running restaurant chains. I remember when the first Olive Garden Restaurant opened in Winter Park on Park avenue. It was very good and very popular, then Darden started building them everywhere and the food quality went doown hill big time. The one on 436 in Altamonte Springs is horrible. When they had the Steak and Ale, restaurants
one would be good and the others horrible. For some reason Darden seems to do better in the Winter Park area.
Anyway a very good article, and interesting pictures!

Sounds like the Bahama Breeze on International Drive, don't ever go there, the service is horrible and the food is over priced! You wait forever for everything!

My friend and I went there for dessert last week. The atmosphere was nice, the service was speedy, and the waiter was very friendly. The dessert happened to be one of the best that I have had in a long time...the waiter managed to place an order for a half chocolate chip and half white chocolate macadamia nut cookie, topped with vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, and chocolate. It was huge, very rich, and satisfying for our taste buds. The waiter said the pizza was excellent and I will try it when I am back in the area.

The price is a little on the above average side but as a whole, it is great. It sounds like some of the negative reviews have been about service issues. The service that we have recieved has been very pleasant. I think that with a new restaurant there is always a flushing out of bad servers. Lets face it, the people that were hired off the bat were probably fired from other places for lack of service. I will continue to go there to eat

After reviewing your comments on BJ's, I have to say that I will from now on, always rely on your criticism to do the opposite.
It is by far my favorite restaurant to eat, meet friends, and have social gatherings. The vast food on the menu not only provides for any taste or mood, everything I have had is incredible, especially the fish tacos. Each time I have been there, which has been approximately 5 times now, both for lunch and dinners, a manager either personally delivered the food or came by and checked on us. I also think that the unavoidable wait for dinners speaks for itself.
I have lived in Orlando for about 16 years and believe this restaurant is the exact mix our town needs.
I do have one thing to say negative, I hate the invention of the Pizookie. Evil in its out of this world taste. The one temptation in life I just can not say no to.

Hello I had lunch there today 9-27-2007 for the first time because someone told me the food it great. Well the food was great but the service was horribly. Our waiter was so rude I did not appreciate how he was. I will say I will try it one more time and if it’s still the same I would never go back there to eat our recommend it
Thank you

I ate at BJ's last week & was really looking forward to it. The food and service was horrible. there was nobody in the place. We were seated when the party in front of us was seated and told to just follow along. It took 15 minutes for the waitress to come over to take our drink order then took another 10 to gets sodas! We ordered an appetizer and it was served without plates or silverware. We actually had to get up to get the servers attention to get out silverware and by the time we received it our appetizer was cold. My meal was horrible. First of all it was a club sandwich, I asked for it without lettuce. I received just turkey and bread and nothing more. When I complained the waitress took it away with no apology. I did not receive my food until the rest of my party had finished theirs. When i did The bacon on my club was pratically raw. The manager did come over and acknowledge that we had a problem. Asked what it was. I showed him the bacon was raw and he didn't apologize just said that's how we do it here. no thanks! he said he'd be taking the meal off the bill but never did. The waitress had no personality and could barely speak to us! Stay far far away!!! not a good experience!

oK, no one answered the first main question! What does the BJ stand for. Is it the obvious or does it stand for something else? OH, and I like the food there too!:o)

We went to B.J.'s on Tuesday, 3/4/08 and it was an unbelievable experience!! We were told it would be a 30 minute wait and given a beeper. Sat at the bar to have a drink and was ignored for 10 minutes. Got the drinks and was ignored until I stopped the bar tender as she whizzed by in order to pay for the drinks. We waited over 30 min--the "host" had "forgotten about us." It took another 10 minutes for the waiter to appear at our table. He took the drink and food orders. Several minutes later the drinks arrived. Shortly there after the salads arrived--but we had no silverware. Another wait. Finally the manager came by and said, " It looks like you guys could use some silverware." I said "That would be nice." He went to get them--never saw him again. The waiter appeared, we told him the manager was getting us silverware but never came back. The waiter went to get the silverware and ended up at the bar computer, punching in an order. I looked at the other end of the bar area and there was the manager talking and laughing with two young ladies at a bar table. We left!! On the way out, we stopped at the desk and told the "host" what had happened. He shrugged his shoulders and went back to folding napkins!! Absolutely unbelievable!!! DON'T GO THERE!!! RUN, WALK OR DRIVE TO SOME PLACE ELSE--ANY PLACE ELSE. Mc Donald's would be a better choice!!

Review is Right On. Been there twice. Thought I give it another try the 2nd time around since the place was still new. Both times appetizer came out after main course. Missing entree. Long wait Time. No refills. Terrible Service. Food OK. Not worth it to have to put up with the Service. They can't seem to get it together.
