Hey! Dont they eat fried crickets in China?
Actually they love fried chicken in China. KFC(gag)is one of the most popular fast food places here but WalMart has the best Fried chicken in China. They also have their own fast food restaurants the sell fried chicken but I dont like them at all.

Sorry, you are dead wrong about the Rashard deal. He was being offered max money by other teams, we just added an extra year to get him. 85 Mill and we would not have signed him, he would have gone elsewhere. You are dead wrong on that one.
If Otis hadn't signed Jameer to a contract we would not have any PG now. Jameer despite some flaws is still a decent PG, however, I do agree he is a very good backup PG, or an average starter.
Sometimes when you guys are so negative about something you fail to see the alternative. Without Rashard we are a 40-45 win team. With him we are are 50-55 win team. That is what he brings to the Magic.
Without Nelson we dont have a starting PG. Sorry but Dooling and Carlos are not starters. They are good backups. Nelson is the best of the 3 backup PG that we have. Even though I am not sold on Nelson, he is improving every year and I give him credit for that. I dont bury him so deep in my negative thoughts that he will never get a chance. I recognize he could become a decent starter but because of his size I dont think he will ever be a great starter.

I know I'm about to shock you now!
Forever I have said Nelson is not now, nor has never been, a PG.
In college he was a 2 and West was more of a PG. Now West is a Cav and a better PG than Nelson to this day.
Nelson may get to be a Dooling in the NBA that's about it. He is Wayyyy overpaid.
As for Lewis, I dont care one way or the other if he's in Orlando. He may "Help" win 5 or so more games, but he also was the reason they lost 5 or so games last year.
So anyway, I actually do agree with you Bob, to some extent...Now That's Scary!

I hate KFC now and havnt eaten any in years. I used to love that stuff with the Large sweet tea from Valdosta, Ga. That had to be the best KFC in the world.

Is there any chance you can go see the USA team in the Olympics? If so let us know how useless Dwight is among the stars , LOL.

You should actually run for a political job. You;re very eloquent and insightful, but every ESPN expert and NBA analyst and GM said Otis overpaid for Rashard. From my 20 plus years of watching the NBA I agree with that fact. You can argue your side if you want, but I cant see us losing offering 5 yrs 85 mill when we are also tax free and had Dwight. I think its more the Magic and Otis not knowin how to play the game. I give him a minus on that call. Jameer as well. So ur saying, well I dont want to risk losing a PG that is a good back up at best and give him starter money, and in doing so cap us so we cant go after another good playe. Again, rookie move. Those 2 acts have possibly set the ceiling for the Magic at ECF regulars or finals Losers unless of course, D12 develops a go to move you can depend on night in and night out and improves his FT% to 75% plus. We'll see how it plays out but I think we're gonna be the Cubs in the sense that we say .. wait to next Year.

Well not too shocked, Olympics, I wish I could go but something funny happened in a country with 1.3 Billion people. They sold out all the tickets. They built hundreds of new hotels and their occupancy rate is less than 50%. They didnt hold any tickets back for the foreign tourists so once they find out that the events are all sold out, they are not coming. So the events are sold out but the hotels are empty. Love it when government plans everything. The Chinese get to see the events however.:)

I like Rashard and your probably right in that he is overpaid, however the market at the time dictated it. Would we have gotten him if we had not tacked on the extra year and paid closer to 100 Mill like the Rockets and probably Cleveland would have. There was a good chance we would not have. Then what would we have done. There was no other big name free agent that fit us either this year or last year.(Maggette is not in the same league) Now we waste two seasons. Whether you agree or not Rashard gets us closer to the NBA finals. He is a great compliment to Howard.

I am not going to argue with you that much about Nelson, I dont think his salary affects us as much as others say. If he really doesnt work, he is tradeable with that contract. He does have value. He is not at the bottom for a point guard and he is not at the top. You package Jameer with a draft choice you can get something for him if you think he is not going to fit. Then again, what would you get for a PG? Your not going to get a top level one with Hedo and Jameer in a package trade. So you get rid of Jameer you still get back an average PG. Even if you could package Jameer and Hedo and change for a Billups, Would we really want to do that? I think I would, but would Detroit?

The truth is we can rant against Lewis all you want but take him off the team and Hedo's production goes down, Bogans and Evans are not as good and Howard would have a much tougher time. Lewis, Howard, Battie, and Hedo give us probably the best front court in the NBA, top 3 anyway. We could use one more solid PF and if Gortat surprises us we are set there.

We are also set Cap wise when the 2010 free agent class comes out. Otis has done a good job getting us ready for that, so he is thinking long term. I can see that and I think others in this forum do also.

What is our cap situation for 2010?

I like lewis (and his salary is a moot point at this point) but it does put limitations on us.

Overall we have a decent team, provided THEY take it upon themselves and get better each year. But the core is there - young core at that. Not a bad place to be.

I don't "think" him, whatever that means, but I THINK he is a decent backup. He was an all-star a few years ago. He can rebound and block some shots. He played very aggressive against us in 2002 in the playoffs. I think it was 2002,,,He is a step or 8 slower than he was in his prime, but he's decent. But hey, we just signed an out-of-shape big man,,quit being greedy and wanting more of them. Only one out-of-shape, use to be good centers per team there buddy.
