I have a 1955 Chevrolet and a 1957 Chevrolet. I have just spent nearly $900. trying to get them to run and was told that the Ethanol made the fuel get old (since it sets quite a bit) and has stopped up the carburator, colapsed the fuel line and caused some of the gaskets to leak. Help! Where can I get some gas that doesn't have it in it? I live near Springfield, MO [email protected]

For now start using Marine Stabil. it helps a little for some of the down sides especially for vehicles that "sit"

otherwise don't let them sit with gas in them.

You do have options in Montana

My milage has gone from 19 city miles per gallon to 15. I found this post looking for ethanol free gas, haven't found any.
Same here. Bought a 2005 Elantra in 2006 and mpg was 19 in town. Then it started dropping. It's been 15 even w/ a few miles on the freeway once a week. In 2010 (now 2011) I don't think there are ANY stations that sell gas w/o ethanol And gasoline is already $3.00 at the "cheap" station.
I way too old to ride a bike - especially in 4-5" of snow!

I also live in Leesburg Fl and I was looking for ethanol free gas. Harris oil in Mt Dora has it. They are at the U-haul dealer on the east side of Hiway 441. I haven't been there yet, but I intend to go and check it out.

Not only will ethanol increase gas mileage it will destroy small 2 and 4-cycle engines. My almost and very little used Husquvarna chainsaw completely burned up because of ethanol in the gasoline which I didn't know would hurt it or my other small engines and outboards before I took the chain saw to the shop. They sold me a very expensive gasoline in a quart can that worked but was almost four dollars per quart, that's sixteen dollars per gallon. Last Fall I drained all the gas out of my small engines and this Spring replaced it with Bell Performance treated gasoline. I ordered some additive from Bell Performance at www.BellPerformance.com . I am using that now in all my engines except my SUV and Car, but wonder if I shouldn't be using it there too, so far so good. I am searching for a local station where I can buy non-ethanol gasoline of any grade.

Whacko is a little too whacko, huh? Maybe he's just reposting with his set-up un-configured, or he's a simple plaguristic member of our society. We are still part of society, are'nt we? Any way, think of it as you'd like. Don't resist popularity Blue Orange County, or however you say your name-thing, isn't it good for the people to here something you said verbatim or would you rather people... oh, forget it. Call him up and tell him, I'm apparently too busy to want to read your squabble, take him to the cleaners or to class or to a movie, but tell him, not me. [email protected]

Interesting to see how many people are clueless. Anyone that gets there information from any TV network other than Fox is miss-informed. For the rest of you interested in the problem and not who to blame, go to http://pure-gas dot org/. You can find the ethanol free gas in your State.

"IF" the government wants to force us to use Ethanol, then they need to replace our vehicles to run on such garbage'iola.
I'm loosing 27% mileage on my 2 vehicles. 2000 GM van V6 and a 1991 GoldWing.

This ethanol is causing me to spend more at the pump to go the same distance. Where is the oil savings in that?
It takes oil products to synthesize ethanol, where is the oil savings in that?
WHY is "our government" thinking from there butts?
NO-No-no, methane is not the answer.

Almost everything I ride is a 2 stoke engine 4- wheeler, snowmobile, dirt bike. I heard ethonal is bad for 2 stoke engines but I know ethanol is screwing up the needle and seet in my carbs and now after replacing them I have to buy a additive to offset the effects of the crappy ethanol and it isn't cheap! That sure isnt saving me any money! I'm pretty sure it isn't good for any engine it is corrosive to metal and aluminum. It sucks all the way around and is a damn stupid idea

A common misconception - the higher the octrane rating, the "more powerful" the fuel. Quite ther contrary, higher octane only raises the gasoline's ability to resist pre-ignition or "knock" at high engine loads and actually lowers the power contained in a gallon of gas. My 2010 Mercedes requires 91/3 octane because the compression ratio of the engine is 9+:1, a design move to increase the car's milage - it works, I get 25+ mpg on the highway. I'd be better off paying $3.50 per gallon for 93 octane ethanol free gas than $3.45 per gallon for E10. I don't know what the refinery has done to get the octane rating up for the 93 octane E0 fuel - there is no mention of tetraethyl lead which would poison the catalytic convertor. Maybe they just boost the aromatics level to reach the octane rating needed. I haven't been able to find it on the web. Given free choice, I cannot imagine the refiners accepting E15. All that will do is put more of your/my tax dollars in ADM's pocket (and every other jake-leg EtOH producer in Iowa/Illinois/Indiana) I believe the present Federal subsidity paid to ethanol producers is in excess $1.60 per gallon. Thanks a lot EPA.

THE INFORMATION IN THIS FORUM IS IRRESPONSIBLY OUTDATED. I BELIEVE THAT IT IS CURRENTLY A FEDERAL MANDATE TI INCLUDE 10% ALCOHOL IN ALL AUTOMOTIVE FUEL.
Can anyone really help me find ethanol free gas for my 94 Winnebago motorboat ? ;-)
