WHAT ALTERNATIVES TO THE COMMUTER RAIL HAVE YOU PROPOSED? None, right?

Why haven't you said anything about the Door-to-Door service with the Bus-Hub and Express Bus service that was mentioned by me?

Are you waiting for the elected to cost you money on the commuter rail?

Would you like a comfortable ride to work every morning and evening?

The Bus-Hub system can do that, and it could have been implemented somewhere in Orlando with the $44 Million the commissioners gave to the consultants.(Not Guetzloe)

Your blogging is interesting, however, when there is a potential alternative to the Commuter Rail you do nothing about it.

You must be professional bloggers, because only a few of you have responded to the Bus-Hub system.

The Bus-Hub picks you up near your home with a shuttle bus that has padded seats. You are taken to a Transfer station that is merely a weather protected concrete platform in a shopping mall or grocery store parking lot. There, you transfer to another shuttle bus or a bigger bus that will take you either directly to your work place, or close by. The regular fare applies, or you can have reserved seating on the direct routes.

Flexibility because the buses can be added to routes or removed, a commuter rail is forever and only as the tracks go. The Bus-Hub doesn't need large parking for cars, the commuter rail does need parking lots or buildings.

SAVE $916 MILLION TAX DOLLARS WITH A BUS-HUB SYSTEM. SAVE YOURSELF ON GAS EXPENSES.

DO YOU WANT TO BE PICKED UP NEAR YOUR HOME, OR DO YOU WNAT TO DRIVE TO THE COMMUTER RAIL?

EVERYONE is in favor of expanding Lynx. Commuter rail is dumb. Bus transit is smart. Unfortunately, rail is sexy and inside the federal government, bus transit is yesterday's news. Since commuter rail is a Fed project and they control the $, we will never see a practical solution.

Morning and evening rush hour Express biodiesel/electric hybrid Wifi equipped buses running down I4 from park-n-ride lots at Sanford and Kissimmee connecting to Central LYNX station and LYMMO - with another express line running east - west from Avalon/Waterford to West Orange and a direct link to OIA. Electronic multilingual automated ticketing, GPS aware live updating maps and ETA times, and covered seated stop kiosks at all major intersection stops. Put a darned starbucks at the major park and ride terminals, even. Add a local connector to the Amtrak Park Ave platform THAT RUNS ON WEEKENDS. Problem solved. Way less than a billion and a half dollars. More useful, more cars off the road, less carbon footprint, great progressive image for the area. No charge for my idea. You're welcome.

But, it seems the "powers that be" don't want to solve the problem of moving workings throughout the 4 corners of the county to downtown, employment centers and the airport. They seem more interested in paying off CSX $600 million dollars and getting their Park Ave stop adjacent landowner "constituents" a windfall in speculative property values.
