Keep in mind some tow truck drivers are doing real work, like going out to a major accident and tow off cars that people died in. They are risking their lives on the freeway to make it easier for you to get home. I put them in the same category as police, fire and rescue. They also help stranded motorists by towing to the mechanic. They can even take your drunk A** home from the bar, sometimes as cheap as a taxi, and throw in the tow job. Most tow drivers are decent hard working people, and late at night they can be a life saver.

Each lot that authorizes trespass towing from their property has to have a written agreement with the tow company that spells out the specifics. A copy of that agreement must be kept on file with OPD. I'm sure you could get copies if you fill out a public records request with OPD. There are A LOT of businesses that allow for Trespass Towing so you will probably be given a stack of info.
BTW for those interested, here's a link to the Orlando city Ordinance governing towing: http://www.municode.com/resources/gateway.asp...
Scroll down to chapter 39.84 which deals with Trespass Towing. No where in there is a private company authorized to immobilize a car.
Also note that earlier in the statute where immobilization of vehicles is discussed, it's only in reference to Parking Enforcement not private companies.

And people wonder why downtown is not patronized and thus inable to be "revitalized." The first step in regards to this would be to make all parking downtown free.
Right on.

As a motel owner and commercial property owner I do not support towing cars parked on my property. A big red sticker glued on their windshield is obnoxious enough in my books.
The people who operate tow trucks are pure trash and social predators who are typicaly drug addicts and thieves. They should be drug and alcohol tested on a regular basis to clean up their ranks.

okay listen here, if there is a sign that says "no parking" that is a clear warning that means NO PARKING!!! people dont get towed out of their drive ways for the very reason that there are no houses in down town orlando. and its quite funny that all the other towing companies in O-town arent pin- pointed.if cars wernt getting towed then do you know how many cars would be in down town orlando. there would be so many people parking where ever they want, taking other peoples personal parking spots. THERE WOULD BE NO WHERE TO PARK!!! next time think it through. you all really need to grow up and get some lives.

If u simply follow the rules and regulation posted on the signes l, u wont have any issues. I am a booter and i see and here it all day. "i just didnt read the signes" "i know it says $10, but i was only gonna be here for 5min". Pay wat it says to pay, read the instructions and follow them. Nobodys fault but yours if u dont comply with the rules.

No surprise that biker scum like Gren is involved in criminal predatory towing or towjacking to use the proper term. This slimeball needs to be put in a cell with the 'tossed salad man.' Bikers are PUNKS and sissies!

i strongly encourage all concerned citizens to carry a pair of bolt cutters and destroy any boot they can on site. booting a car is a violation of the car owners property. since the tow company placed their boot on my car it now becomes my boot. you would be a fool to pay them to remove it. just break it and take it. i would help someone in need change a tire, jump start their car, and now break a boot. its the good sumeritan thing to do.

In 20 years of business dealing with tow companies across the nation I have never dealt with a company as slimy and unethical as Towtruck Co. I am an authorized agent of a leinholder, they have given us incorrect information which cost my client thousands of dollars and refused to let us so much as speak with a manager. I'm glad that all calls are recorded because those are going to be subpoenaed.

Personally I think an abandoned business in orlando should be forced to fence off vacant parking lotsso many of these businesses in orlando leave their property poorly secured, I know of many vacant gor years- shouldnt be allowed to use it as a towing money generator......
