when you are dealing with such high voltages there is no room for error, obviously someone turned the power back on before the job was finished otherwise he would not have gone back up.

I would like to express my sympathy to the family of a man who was just trying to do his job. To all you idiots and bigots out there: YOU need to recognize that a man died. Those with out sympathy and infected with hatred, sarcasm and bigotry would most likely be served well in the toilet. However, you would need another bigot to flush your head down...no problem, many of YOU out there. Get a life.

I work for individuals that conduct investigations into fatalities such as this, so, in time perhaps they will determine what might have caused this man's death, however...

What angers me are the many here and on countless other media web site message boards who spend time sitting at their computer only to enter comments that are not worthy of being posted - I'd be the first to sacrifice my PRIVILEGE to post my comments (since it is a privilege that many in other countries do not have), by ending all media web site message boards (as some newspapers and television stations have already done), since most users who post on them have nothing intelligent to say - mores the pity for them, especially at the end of their life when they realize that too much of their time was spent this way, and, can only think about "what might have been"...

I have the utmost respect for anyone who works around electricity. Having said that, I've driven past FPL workers in cherry pickers repairing lines and have heard a deafening explosion.
My condolences to this man's family.

Maybe FPL will lower their bills now.
No way! They will have to raise rates to cover the payoff in the lawsuit for poor old Junior. I bet he got the shock of his life when that hit him.

Was he a quota hire, taking a job from some one more qualified simply because he was black?
FPL has many hard working and dedicated black employees who need to be qualified just like anybody else to get the job.

I knew this man personally. He was a really nice man and has a wife and two young children. This was an accident and the power was restored back to the lines before the job was finished. Proper procedure was not followed correctly here and this is indeed a terrible accident.
Great, now his family is going to sue and FPL is going to hit us with another sur-charge

These comments started out as a "rag" on the Sun-Sentinel for the article & headline errors that were obviously unedited before posting.

What has resulted is quite shameful - no I am not a bleeding heart.
I am ashamed to have been part of it.
My sympathy to Junior's family.
