The Magic need one player to step up and match Kobe's killer instinct. If they don't it will be a short series. At this point we have the talent but not the intensity we need to win it all. Magic, don't let the Lakers steal OUR championship. GO MAGIC!

They talk about teams that live by the jump shot die by the jump shot, hell, the Magic couldn't put it in when they had a clean layup. The Lakers didn't stop anything, the Magic stopped themselves. The Magic pulled their usual disappearing act from the field, standing around waiting for someone else to take over the game. Unfortunately for them, the player that took over was on the wrong team.
Come on, Randy. The Lakers dominated in the paint and outrebounded The Magic by a wide margin. Of course, the team from Florida will shoot better in Game #2 but they aqre what they are ... primarily a jump shooting team. Teams with that persona eventually go bust when their shots don't drop. 15th NBA Championship is near for the Lake Show.

Before any loudmouth fellow Lakers fans come on here and prematurely gloat. The Magic got alot of open looks, looks we cant count on them missing in rest of this series. Before this series started I felt either of these teams could easily win games. Its going to come down to execution. As a Lakers fan you always want to find something to hate about the other team and use it as motivation to stomp on them, but I cant find anything bad to say about the Magic. Good team. Its not even CLOSE to being over.
by far you are the classiest laker fan i have seen. look forward to a good series.

that being said, YING-YANG STUFFING! I love my team but that was dog-butted to the 100th power. bad shots, over dependance on the 3 when the ball was not dropping, SIGH...

all that being said, this team is resilient and i expect them to bounce back and win game 2. yes it looks bleak but did it not look bleak after the game winners from igoudala, baby and lebron? didn't we recover in the boston series and win in boston? we've come to far to mail in the remainder of the series. BEAT LA!

I YELLED at them more than usual, DIDN'T I ??

WHY DON'T THEY LOOK AT ME IN THE LOCKER ROOM, WHEN I'M TELLING THEM WHAT'S WRONG ???

Well, maybe not unexpectedly, the Orlando "Softies" showed up - not the Orlando "Focused". All to familiar. I wonder what part JN had to do with that?
Anyway here's something from ESPN which seems appropriate:
"Yep, one win.
But it was the kind of win -- Howard kept coming back to the theme of not having enough "effort and energy" -- that left you wondering how Superman had enough zip to high-five Jack Nicholson a half-dozen times before the opening tip but not enough juice to prevent himself from being outplayed by Andrew Bynum when the two were matched against each other in the first 12 minutes.
In short, the Magic looked liked tourists. Happy to be here, but clueless when it comes to knowing how to get into a comfort zone. Freshly washed (nice haircut, by the way, Stan), but then dirtied by their unfamiliarity with the territory in which they now find themselves treading.
It isn't supposed to be this way, not in the Finals."
I wonder which team will show up Sunday?
I had a feeling that it might be this way when Howard was interviewed before the game and said "we need to go out there and have fun"

Howard has shown that he can produce the intensity when he wants to and he and the rest of them better produce it on Sunday.

This is the playoffs - this is war not fun.

The fun happens when you have the trophy in your hot little hands!!

Hey, don't fault Jameer. He has the guts to show up. And he shot 33.3 percent -- THE TEAM AS A WHOLE ONLY SHOT 29.9 !!!

Should have left Nelson out and the Magic need to learn that the ball must go into the hoop to count. I was hoping they would not have playoff fears but the first run the Lakers made, they freaked out. They have to take came 2 or this thing is over. Too much momemtum for Lakers. I know it is just one game but the Lakers want this much more than the Magic do right now and it shows
I think when Kobe said at the post conference that he wants this championship so bad..He is kind sending a message to Shaq that he can win one without him....His feeling was hurt by Shaq

U know the more i here from those 2 the more i despise them...especially Jon Barry. What the hell has this clown ever won?

that yahoo has been saying that the entire playoffs, giving the magic no credit for what they do to win games and that is defense, although there was a severe lack of it last night.

i think he is going to continue repeating that mantra until the series is over...he doesn't have anything else! he is a sensationalist! analyse the game you ass, stop repeating what some one else told you!

Memo to Van Gundy-Cure for 30% shooting is driving the basket. Also a great way to stop the other team's momentum on a big run instead of shooting three's. Shot percentage is better, you get the other team in foul trouble and you make some free throws(see Celtics/Lakers series in the 80's). Not sure about changing the chemistry on a successful team with Nelson no matter how good he was during the season.Note to Alston either drive the basket or pass first, shoot later when your other shooters are having an off night. Your brother Jeff said Rashard Lewis needs to drive the basket. Listen to him.Do we have a wide-body that can go in there, take some fouls and bang up the pretty boy Lakers so they can't just drive the basket whenever they want? Finals are usually won by physicality, not finesse.

Nelson shouldn't have played- Chemistry issue at this point- not the reason for the loss. Where is Redick in the WB Dog house? Oh that's right he cant play defense or shoot!!!! I think he has showed what he can do- when they do pass the ball to him with regularity- he knocks them down.

Magic will recover
