Magic stay second in East with win over Bucks

Full story: Orlando Sentinel

These are the games that are largely forgettable --- as long as you win them. A loss, however, to a mediocre opponent can haunt when the playoff brackets are announced.

Magic came out and took care of business tonight. Great play from our bench. All around good game. Didnt see anything to complain about.

So Mark, are you happy to see that Rashard got 8 boards tonight? Now those are more Power Forward-like numbers. Let's keep this up Magic and let's not give the Dwyane Wade's a false sense of hope that they can beat us in a 7 game series on Monday. NEXT!

54 wins already this year!. Ever since Shaq left, we have been dreaming of a season like this. Unfortunalety, the year we have a championship-type season, 3 other teams are having them as well. Still, I like our chances if we can get the 2 seed and Detroit goes to 8th.

Stan The Man, yes!

Good thing too since Dwight had a sub-par rebounding game and we still out rebounded them. Hedo added 9 boards and Gortat added 11. Team rebounding is important.

Good all around game. Another good game by the rookie.

I love the assist numbers for Dwight (5). That's a good sign.

All 5 starters in double figures. Solid play from the bench. Gortat has a double double in 24 minutes.

The Magic took care of business tonight folks. They went out there and simply knew what it took to get it done.

Atlanta rolled over and played dead tonight against the Celtics. The game was played in Atlanta and KG sat this one out. But still the Hawks could not get it done.

So now the Magic and Celtics remained tied for the number 2 spot in the East. Magic hold the slight lead by percentage points.

Rashard and Turk both did a good job on the boards tonight.

This will be crucial come playoff time.

That's the first time I ever saw a coach get called for a technical foul and then the refs go ahead and give the ball to the wrong team to shoot the tech free throw.

Maybe they thought Scott Skiles was still with the Magic or something.

That is the mark of a championship team. To take care of the teams youre supposed to take care of. The big question for the magic is their best basketball good enough to win it all in the playoffs? I think it is.

I haven't posted in awhile, but I'm still a huge Magic fan living here just outside of Washington, D.C. I've had a chance to see the Magic twice this year in games against the Wizards, and I love how the guys are playing! I guess all the naysayers are nowhere to be found these days, so I hope the city is alive and all behind the team. I'm coming back down to Orlando next month, so I hope I can check out a playoff game.

Another steller performance by the Magic. They could have mopped the floor of those fools. The magic have completly turned around since Doc Rivers left. I know some Magic team mates that have been "chemically induced" during the last 3 seasons but, hey as long as they put on a good game it's all good right?

I don't care who the Magic face in the first round. They are gelling nicely right now. The ball movement is great. Everyone's getting involved including bench players.

I also think all the talk of the Magic being soft has lit a fire under Dwight, Gortat, and Battie to prove the media wrong. The game against the Celtics was the most physical I've seen all season and the Magic didn't back down.

If Detroit and some of you think the Magic are gonna lay down and die, you got another thing coming.

I'm pissed ESPN showed WSOP instead of any NBA games that were going on Friday night. WTH? You want to show re-runs of poker instead of NBA. Who's the idiot that decided to do that?

As long as the Magic stay focused for a full 48 minutes, protect the basketball, and box out to secure defensive rebounds, they should do very well in the playoffs.

With the Magic the offense should pretty much always be there. It is the defense as well as the little things that need to get done out there on the court that will lead them to being successful.

Im not saying we cant beat detroit, because we should but havent for a while. This year could be different, and I hope it is. I would be more confident against the bulls or 76ers though.
