•How about these people in the check-out lines in the grocery store who stand for minutes while the cashier checks their purchases. After all this time, they go digging in their purses for their debit card or checkbook. They have not figured out they could slide their card while the cashier is working or better yet, they could have their check made out except for the amount during the checkout process. Have some respect for the folks in line behind you, imbeciles.

Would these be the same people I frequently see in the EXPRESS lane with WAY more than 10 items talking on their cell phones? I think they were looking for the LOW I.Q. lane.

•You see a yard-sale sign, you drive in anticipation searching for the sale and, lo and behold, they already packed up and went to dinner with the money they made for the day, while you have just spent several dollars in fuel looking for the sale! When you have a garage or yard sale, go collect your signs and then break down your sale, not the other way around.

Dinner time is a pretty late time of the day to consider going to a yard sale. As for the signs, I agree. Some of the people NEVER take down their yard sale signs.

To the person upset about lousy tippers, having the audacity to state, "If you can't tip at least 15 percent, then stay home," have you lost your mind? We "stiffers" do not wish to dine out to pay your salary. We dine out to spend our hard-earned money on food in a nice setting. A tip is just a way of monetarily saying "thank you" for going above and beyond. I'm not sure about most, but I don't typically receive the "above and beyond" service in this day and age. I'm certainly not going to tip for mediocre service. Therefore, be happy with 10 percent — most of the time, you don't even deserve that! Remember, if you don't like the tips, you're not bound by any contract. Go find another profession!

If you are not typically receiving the "Above and Beyond" service from more than one server at more than one location, I doubt if it is a coincidence. After reading your whiny statement, it seems your tipping practices have encouraged mediocre service from the servers who know you.

To the commentator on "went missing." Thank you! I thought it was just me that thought it was not correct.

Because the Flip Side took up the remaining space of this Ticked Off! column, the more entertaining, whining complaints that could have been posted here for our amusement WENT MISSING!

Well, that's exactly what's happening! All the descent servers are getting out of the business. In the near future it will be buffet all the way and I thank you very much for making that possible.

Ah, my day is complete, now that "that's life" has given their opinion on EVERY SINGLE COMMENT on the column. Seriously, dude. One comment on one or two of the complaints is enough. You don't have to put your opinion on every one of them.

Why do you find it necessary to be so disrespectful to the Tyson family with your "code name" and then think ANYONE would want to hear your comments about anything? Forget about "That's Life" and put some energy into becoming a better human being.

Ok, I give up. What's wrong with that?
A) I won't have to wait ages for cold food to be brought to my table.
B) Won't have to worry about my order being wrong. Again.
C) Won't have to wait 25 minutes for the wait staff to come take my drink order.

Believe me, I'd MUCH rather do it myself with a buffet. No matter how surly and lazy the wait staff is at Golden Buffet or the local Chinese or Indian restaurants, they don't interfere with me having a nice meal.

And, I stand behind everything I wrote. If you are offended, you're probably the one giving mediocre service. If my tipping encourages mediocre service, than I'll lower it to 5%. Would you tip at a fast food place? Same thing.

Plus, you get to choose how much you want of each item.
Make it TWO votes for more buffets and fewer lazy waiters.

Reading them, posting them, it's all part of the FUN. Don't get your panties in such a bunch and relax and try to enjoy life. No one is forcing you to read any of the posts on Ticked off! or Topix. Sometimes I post things for others to chuckle at. Sometimes I post more serious things for discussion. I have no problem if people read them and respond to them, regardless of whether their response is positive or negative. That is what this forum is for. I welcome your responses just as much as any one else's. For those who can enjoy reading and responding to this forum, they've got the idea. For those who don't enjoy it but continue to do so anyway, they're as bad as someone who refuses to change a t.v. channel even though what they're watching really irritates them.

Im not sure why no one has posted this, but heres the truth for all you cheap people and your 10% tip. 10% is a joke of a tip and if that is normal when you are dining out, your best bet is to not return to that restaurant. Servers remember the horrible tippers as much, if not more, as they do the good tippers. Lets say therefore that one of you "just be happy I'm dining here" pain in the asses are sitting in your local restaurant and that server has you as well as 3 other tables. If that server gets busy, I can guarantee you that you rank towards of the bottom on their priority list. Any server will take their chances on the other 3 tables and offer them quality service since they figure your tip ceiling is 10%. This is what happens, deservedly so. Please dont respond to this saying "we will tip more when the service is amazing." Everyone on here knows that is probably once a year, and noone believes it. Im glad it lets you sleep at night though. Enjoy your extra pennies.

You are asking someone in an open, public forum to mind their own business. You have a low I.Q. don't you?

Don't get me started on BAD service...BAD service has me complaining to management, getting my meal for free or GREATLY discounted, ZERO tip, and not returning to that place of business. So, go ahead - earn me that free meal and save me the tip, Drill!

I hope you don't work your miserable self down to not tipping at all and then when that doesn't get the attention you crave, you slit your wrists.

Sounds like your first objective is to find something wrong with your meal or server just so you can get a discounted or free one. I know someone that did this every time we went out to eat, so I stopped going out to dinner with her. After reading your posts, I applaud the servers for giving you bad service and hope they continue to do so. Let me know where they work so I can tip them for their great service to society. Never mind, I just realized...that's probably every restaurant.
