Moehelio - true. Statistics collected by the United States Parachute Association indicate that the largest single cause of skydiving injuries and death result not from a malfunctioning parachute, but rather, from misjudging the landing. Today's parachutes are typically small, lightweight, high-performance models that do not easily forgive human error. They are about as much fun to fly as driving a Ferrari on the autobahn - and a lot less expensive. Modern skydiving is *nothing* like what you see in main-stream movies.

I heard after they were able to get her heart started again, that both her femurs punched through her knees, and she was life-flighted to the hospital.

Mia Prebinski, 24, member of team Cat Women, has passed away earlier today. She did not survive her serious head injuries. Let's send our thoughts and prayers to her family in these difficult times, instead of making stupid remarks such as those from the first 3 posts.

A young woman was gravely hurt(and later succumbed to her injuires). Yet people have the gall to toss about such flippant and callous comments! You should be ashamed of yourselves. Where is your sense of decency and decorum?!

For some of us Mia was a friend, to others she was a teammate, maybe a coworker, or a family member... a person we all loved and cared for. She was always filled with joy and happiness. She was living her life, enjoying each moment of it and was doing everything she could to make her dreams come true. Whomever wrote unthoughtful comments about what happened... I'd try to remember that because of that accident an angel has left us and many people are mourning their loss.

My husband works with her father and even I know that he was so proud of his daughter's accomplishments and professionalism at everything she did. She was a daughter, a sister, a friend, a co-worker and a professinal team member of the Cat Woman sincronysed Skydiving Team! With over 350 dives she's certainly earned her wings on Earth and am certain that she is flying with the Angels as we speak. May she rest in piece and God Bless her and her love ones!
