I am not voting, I just had some unique experiences with one or some of the listed businesses and wanted to see what others thought.

The new Lazy Dog at Illinois Hwy. and Cedar sells a very good Chicago dog for $1.60 (tax included) and an attractive young lady takes your order. Just don't get there at noon on a workday or you'll be out the door waiting.

Lazy dogs food is crap, but I suppose that you were only looking at the help when you were eating your food and not paying attention to the crap you were eating. WE definitely need a Portillo's here. Lazy dog you better fine tune your foods....you won't make it here...this is a hot dog eating town. Harold had the greatest hot dogs at Ranch frostie's. It's ashame he's gone...someone tell his son to go back to what dad would buy...quality is what makes the food...

I was out walking and found Lazy Dog, and loving hot dogs and having read the reviews on here, decided to try it out for myself. Their dogs are a bit dry, and the cucumber is unusual. Their Sweet Baby rays peaked my interest but was OK at best.=|
Where are the other Hot Dog joints listed here?

We hotdogaholics still have to bite our dogs somewhere. What time of day did you eat at LD's? I mentioned that if you get there around noon things aren't as good as other times. After work in mid-afternoon is when I've gone there. A gentleman ALWAYS likes the sweet looks of a nubile lady no matter where he is or for what reason he's out and about. Sure beats the hell out of whiney, disinterested old battle axes like there are at nearby enterprises.

I heard a couple moms placed a large order at Lazy Dogs and when they went to pick it up, it was wrong so it took a long time to correct. The new owner got frustrated and took it out on the customers screaming at the two women in front of everyone saying "it's their fault you have to wait!" The women's husbands went back and demanded an apology. they didn't get it...really bad business relations at this joint. And if the food is not great I give it a couple months.

I have not heard anything good about the lazy dogs food either. I do not know personally just from second hand accounts. Portillos still has the best dogs in my book.

It's a stone's throw from MY house, too, CRR.
Nice dog joint but not to be compared to some of the more renowned ones in the area.

I voted for Willie's Weenie Wagon but only because Boz's was not an option. I grew up in Dolton, home of the original Bozo's (as it was known then) and when you have been "weened" on a Bozo's Hot Dog you are convinced that they just don't make them like they used to anymore! I'm all for a Portillo's Cheesy Beef Croissant though!

At State and 9th, Lockport still has a place that used to be called Boza's. They steam the buns well, have tangy dogs, and load on all the condiments you want along with a little garlic salt.
On hot summer nights the lines are long but move quickly and the product is worth whatever wait it takes.

McEnery (Gas City) who owns it, got the forest preserve(with the help from the mokena trustees and Mayor) to lease property to him so that rt 30 could be widened and so that he could tear down steamboat and build a restaurant. It wasn't sold to anyone. Mr. Gas City is still behind it and still knows how to make money out of it all.

Lazy Dog has been open for barely a month and they've already jacked up the price of their regular dog by 20 cents from $1.60 to $1.80. We don't put a hot dog in our cart's tank but LD's slapping us with a 13% increase. Makes OPEC look almost generous. That is, if we choose to keep going there.
