My grandmother lives in Smith Crossing on 183rd street. She said Chiefs, politicians, and an ambulance was there for some type of presentation. Isn't that Mokena fire's?

It is Mokena fire which I agree with the other poster you already knew that. Smith Crossing invited Orland there. Several property owners are VERY interested in annexing inot Orland Fire. A presentation was done to showcase all the services, equipment and manpower Orland has to offer. That is all it was.

Did they also go over the taxes they will have to pay for Orland Fire? You could send a a kid through college for what you pay over 20 years of OFPD taxes. The presentation should have covered how Tinley Park residents have the same fire insurance rating with 1/4 of the taxes.

That is NOT TRUE. The taxes paid to the Village of Tinley are a lot higher than what the TOTAL tax bill is for Orland. I own several properties in both towns. The recreation department is second to none. Plus Orland has a full-time police department of almost 100 officers.Tinley has 65 full-time officers. Orland fire has over 100 firefighters of which most are paramedics.Tinley has part-time fire fighters. Orland fire also has their own ambulances and do not rely on a private ambulance. You need to get your facts straight before you post again. I will take Orland over Tinley any day. MUCH BETTER SERVICES.

We never had a chance and are sorry for all the bad things that our chief did. Hopefully now all the departments around us will start getting along with us again. I know we did many bad things in the past but it's because we are the biggest and the best. Will anyone like us again?

It's about time that the Orland Park Mayor and Trustees move to incorporate OFPD into the village and end this runaway taxing body and all this duplication of staff thus saving Orland residents on their taxes.

That would be great and think about it we would only have 1 fire department instead of three protecting Orland. That would be a win win situation. We could get rid of Palos and Mokena fire because we would be a municipal department instead of a fire district. We would also pick up a 7th station(Mokena station 3) I assume the Village would have to pay Mokena back the cost of the construction but they would re-coup that money in a year with the savings of getting rid of all the duplicated services such as payroll dispatch ect. Go for it Orland it is time to shut Orland, Palos and Mokena fire down.
