An Orem, Utah, company with a facility in Independence has been cited by the U.S. Department of Labor Wage and Hour Division for violating child labor regulations.

OMFG ! your kidding me. Who was the dumbass that thought they could get away with this one ?

The bad part about this. I believe our tax dollars will go up further to pay for thier piss poor judgement in this County and those who were in the wrong will get a slap on the hand..

THIS IS BULLchit people who would allow our children be be caught up in this and for what reason only did we allow this to happen in our own County under our eyes without knowing about it in the first place. Cheap labor WTF !

My daughter worked there for a short time. She is 20 yrs. But, my point is that she was treated terribly. Long, long hours on the top floor of Arco bldg. in mid August with no air conditioning. Feeling sick and faint most of the time, she was yelled at for not going fast enough. Constant unprofessional threats of "firing" that I witnessed here at home when they called her late at night!
She told me stories of the young supervisors that taunted other employees, some young kids. I begged her to quit because of this behavior. She insisted that this was the only jobs available for kids her age, especially when going to college or school.
She was eventually fired for a very stupid reason, and it was handled like a bunch of 3rd graders! I have considered filling a complaint myself, but now I will look like a copycat.
This news does not surprise me. I am thankful she is not there anymore!
I realize that we need more business here for jobs, but do we really need this?
